I know, I have the same question. My guess is they're not sure. I had a 21 Taycan with 12v battery issues, now have a 25 model, got the same WSS6 email this week. Seriously, you would think Porsche would have this issue figured out by now?
My 25 has 5500 miles. Other day the center screen (the hvac one with the click feedback) locked up. Weird. Came back after I locked and unlocked. Other than that, flawless. Love the car.
I just got the ARB7 OTA update today, months after others started getting it . Seems Porsche must be using a dial up modem server to roll this out to all Taycan owners.... Of course, like many software updates, something else stops working. In my case Android Auto refused to connect until...
Thanks for posting the Porsche response. I know, I got the same dealer response and as far as I know I didn't get the OTA update yet.....if Taycans do actually start igniting, the confusion Porsche/Audi has created will be fertile ground for trial lawyers.
I received the letter yesterday, have not received the OTA update as of today. My car shows ARB7 on the Porsche recall site as of today, but when I scheduled with my dealer their system shows no ARB7 recall???? Porsche I would think can do better than this mess. Just IMHO.
For those of you that have received the ARB6/7 OTA software update is there anything other than the instructions in the email from Porsche a few months ago (i.e. deactivate Privacy Mode in the PCM) to get this thing to load up? I have a good LTE signal in and out of my garage.
Is it just ARB6...
I received the same letter yesterday as well. My car was under ARB7 and was thinking the OTA software update (which I have yet to receive, even though I followed the instructions about disabling privacy in the email from Porsche a few months ago) would satisfy the recall (at least temporarily)...
I just got the same recall letter today. My car is listed under ARB7. I still have not gotten the OTA update, so I am thoroughly confused.
I will call the dealer tomorrow as the letter does not mention anything about an OTA software update to the BMC.
And the letter mentions the work may take...
That's a nice trip and report. As I'm new to EV's, I've yet to go more than a 130 miles each way, but probably will this summer. And I agree on the pleasure of driving the Taycan. Thanks for the great info.
My 2 sons are now in their 30's with families of their own, but when they were new drivers in their teen years I owned a few pretty fast BMW M cars. I would let them drive from time to time with me IN the car, never alone or (God forbid) with friends.
While they were both very responsible for...
One thing I noticed on the Porsche TSB 224/20 is that they only modify the left and right middle drain (not the other 4 drains, front, back on both sides). I popped mine out and in fact the middle ones were the only drains modified with the clear silicone piece pulled out.
Wondering if anyone...
Geez, PCNA response doesn't instill much confidence. Thanks for trying to get some useful info. I agree and am going with the general 80% charge limit. In fact in the email it does say they "recommend" the 80% limit if your battery is not being monitored. I followed the email instructions to...
Another gray area to me seems to be the 80% charging limit/recommendation.
"Until the health check can be carried out by a Porsche Center, to
help prevent potential damage to cell modules, Porsche
recommends you set the charge settings so that the battery is
charged only to a maximum of 80%...
I received the email today as well. My car has been listed as ARB7 since last year. I read on another thread (can't remember where) that someone was told by their dealer that they just have to have the 10 year basic "Connect" subscription (not the paid version that has many more features), which...
