Hi,
In NL Porsche uses Turien & Co to provide the insurance. A very similar insurance is available with them via other brokers. Going with Porsche gives you free/included coverage for Porsche track days, going direct you can get 5 years purchase value and/or no-claim protection, there is an...
I have a “German” MY25 1.2, living in NL, limited to 4G all around EU (at least NL, DE, BE, FR, SP). But it’s the weakest link of the SIM or comm module, if you have a 4G SIM (or contract) you won’t get 5G roaming.
I suspect both the data contract / SIM and comm module are 4G only.
Hi,
Got my J1.2 back from dealer for about a week, after fixing lack of Connect service by (appparently) reflashing the commbox.
Today online radio: Function not available.
Anyone with similar issue which might indicate server side issue or is the "fix" already breaking appart. All the other...
The 12v battery is LiFePO4 based, not a standard lead-acid battery, so it’s far more expensive but should have a very long lifespan.
Keep in mind if you install any accessory that is pulling power while the car is off that the low cut off should be at 13v or above. Most dashcam hardwire kits...
Got the car back from dealer after overnight stay. They managed to reflash the comm box and restore functionalities (with a newer version as I noticed some small differences- like the PCM goodbye message)
The only kind of gesture I'm getting from Porsche is the middle finger...
Car need to get in for Commbox issue (no Connect service like many other people), they are trying to charge me for a rental car as it's initially in for "diagnostic" for a couple of days not "fixing (under warranty)".
J1.2 MY25, most connect functions (and others like online radio) down since the 14th. Tried factory reset, only to lock myself off. Currently waiting for the module battery to run flat and hopefully reboot correctly (OPC recommended to unplug 12v or remove comm box fuses for 24h - picked the...
It’s quite astonishing they are unable to solve backend connectivity, especially as it has a probably significant warranty and reputational cost attached.
Probably something product managers don’t want to spend a few hundred hours solving because they can’t attach revenue to it.
Thanks. Looks like a likely explanation, some corruption on communication module. A bit worrying that a bug or external trigger could create unrecoverable corruption, bricking the whole module.
I contacted my dealer, will see how long / how many attempts they might need.
On a positive note, I...
Thanks for your feedback,
It’s been 4 days, parking away with key far away didn’t solve the issue.
I also crossed the border and had the module roamed (so forced connection to a new operator) without success.
For the factory reset, too late and yes I shouldn’t have, not only I’m stuck in guess...
Hi,
Getting the dreaded communication module issue, no Connect services anymore.
Some services were still available (about 1/3 of the Connect service list) before the suggested "Factory reset" by Connect support. Since then of course none.
I really suspect the problem to be server side, liekly...
There is no FoD for J2 (Sadly for Porsche as my 2nd hand J2 is missing ALK/Innodrive and I would have bought it straight away when receiving my car. Now 2 months down the line I probably wouldn't, happy with ACC).
220-240V is basic voltage in Europe residential 1-phase (and 480V in 3-phases) but we are usually getting around 25A per phase for basic subscription, after that monthly network cost are increasingly significantly.
I’m paying $40/month (network cost, no energy included) for 3x25A but 3x50A would...
Not totally true, AC charging speed is determined by the lowest of the car and charger.
22kW requires 32A 3-phases which is virtually unavailable for residential around Europe, 11kW is the most people can get on residential on 3-phases and 7.2kW on 1-phase.
So except in the case of commercial...
So in EU, Porsche is:
- reimbursing the 22kW option price
- do a “commercial gesture” on top.
(Several cases on French Taycan Facebook group)
If you can prove that 22kW was a deciding factor (aka: you are using it daily to charge at work and 11kW would not allow you to recharge enough) then...
