I hope that's true for all the lithium Ion batteries like the Taycan uses. It's definitely not true for lead batteries... my 2018 Tesla model 3 has needed a replacement ever 4 years so far.
There are several of us who don't want to hear an engine but want a smaller, fast and great handling EV. There is no substitute for instant torque and the only thing I want to hear is when the tires are about to fail.
