Anyone know if you can still do a 20x10 square setup on a 2026 CT? With the suspension changes for Porsche active ride, I wasn't sure if the changes internal clearances for the front tires and/or if the OP's ST has different outer/fender clearances than the CT.
I aired down once, pressure crept back up to 42. Afternoon session definitely had less traction than the morning. Or felt that way. Or I have more power than I know how to manage :)
What do you run your tire pressure on for 20"? (if you run 20")
I was all over the place Sunday as I fought momentum and insufficient grip for my weight. I mean I know I suck. This is at the forefront of my mind prior to our next session in August.
I think I'm going to go down the rabbit hole of figuring out what a set of square rims would look like cost...
Thanks, super helpful both of you. I've been reading, researching, listening to folks here, and this is what I think I've figured out so far?
The overwhelming suggestion is to go with a "square" setup of 20x10 rims because:
* Autocross tires like the Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RS dont fit...
Prefacing this: Fast car, slow driver. Looking for information, wisdom, judgement.
The Car: 2026 Taycan 4s CT, PAR, RAS, 20" summer conti tires.
First off, yes, the big CT is fun to autocross. Its heavy, there is a lot of tire noise, but handles and brakes well (even with the normal brakes)...
I love that for so many people the Taycan is giving them the experience they want.
I never really drove an automatic before my eTron, and am used to not having 'creep'. I do use the HOLD function. Just wish I had an option similiar to my standard or some other electrics. At the end of the...
When I take my foot off the brake, the Taycan goes, just like an ICE engine with an idle. I have to confess, after driving an electric before it - that did precisely nothing if you weren't pressing on the accelerator - as well as cars with clutches, this behavior kinda drives me nuts.
Proper...
Great thread.
I dont seem to be able to get the button to give me homelink as an option. Nor can I find anything on home link that allows me to do geolocation. Have this on my audi love it.
I have a J1.2. On the homelink I have the button programming page and an info page.
There is also a...
Back when I was young I did formula fords and my honda CRX at the glen, can remember dirving into fog so dense I couldnt see. But fun track!
I recently took my taycan to autocross locally through the porsche club's novice day. It had been 35 years since I'd done anything like that - was a good...
OK, super helpful. Where I live locking things isnt really needed. Plus, being in a garage locking was doubly unnecessary. But now I know - double tap or lock the car turns it off. I knew I'd be glad to have posted this question.
