  1. Deposit placed for RS E-Tron GT

You will get a stomach ache every time you pull up next to a Taycan and think about what you did vs. what you could have done. Cancel the Audi and get what you wanted. At these price levels , if you can afford one you can afford the other.
  2. Is Taycan Turbo S too much as a daily driver

The beauty of the Turbo S--in 911 or Taycan form--is that they are the ultimate daily driver which transforms in a wink to a full on race track performer. No other cars Iyou are likely to encounter do that so effortlessly and elegantly. A low mileage car barely broken in --and your example...
  3. Which model to get?

I think this is not about what makes sense, but more about how you will feel when the model you were considering but passed up passes you on the road. If those things do not bother you, than the 4S makes perfect sense, If you have waited during the stages of your life to own something that is...
  4. Road & Track review. Talk about living under a rock for the last 6 months - why don't some journalists do their homework?

This reporter has no sense of being an owner of either of these cars. This is an armchair revue devoid of a principal reason why people chose one or another of these vehicles. Having had an early Tesla Model S and driven it for 7 years, I was quite satisfied with having it, but I was fortunate...
  5. Rear axle steering (RAS) - gimmick or?

I had a Tesla Model S for years and while I liked the convenience, the futuristic styling and features and the overall advanced tech of an EV, I always felt I was driving a boat. I also had a Porsche 911 Turbo S with every imaginable suspension and performance feature including 4 wheel steer...
  6. TECHART Porsche Taycan Carbon Aerokit Released

This looks like a cloned version of the Porsche Sport Design package with carbon fiber. The original is all Porsche, and this feels very pretender. I went with Porsche's version and it's very satisfying.
  7. Help Choosing between 2022 4S and 2020 Turbo

I have a 2020 Turbo S and there is a tremendous satisfaction knowing I have something special. I think the color of the Turbo you're describing will look just great and if you get the 4S you will crane your neck to spot every Turbo that passes you or parks near you, knowing you fell short of...
  8. General scratches on mission e wheels

I HAVE THEM IN WHITE TO MATCH THE BODY COLOR ON A TURBO S. NO SCRATCHES IN A YEAR OF USE, BUT LOW MILEAGE. THEY'RE SUPER EASY TO CLEAN.
  9. Taycan Welcome Kit

A $2 welcome kit for a $200,000 car. Porsche has had better moments.
  10. Scared to ask... anyone tempted by Model S Plaid?

I had a fully equipped, top of the line Model S for 7 years. Yes, over that time Tesla sliced a few tenths of a second of the fastest sedan 0 -60 times, but all those sudden bursts of acceleration are relative and there is little chance to actually experience drag racing in town, which in...
  11. Duuuude, my Taycan arrived!! Love it and have some basic questions

I slide the phone into the charging slot in the console and then use a lightning to usb-c converter to plug the cord into the usb outlet in the console. I got a short cord so that there would be less cord to coil up in the console.
  12. Wrong interior

Here's a shot in daylight I took of my new Turbo S. The interior is black. Pure black. But in this shot it does appear to be more toward gray. Hopefully you will have this result.
  13. Announced: Software update for 2020 Taycan models ?

I have just had an extensive update session at my dealership for my 2020 Turbo S, but was told that this did not include the items announced here in Porsche's news release. That update will come later and owners will be notified when it is ready to be installed.
  14. Sports Chrono or Rear Axle Steering?

You will use both features every day you drive your car. If you can't afford both these very basic Porsche advantages you might reconsider the Taycan. Stretch and get both. They make the car special and without them you are drving something incomplete.
  15. Have any of you had a problem-free Taycan experience?

Got my 2020 Turbo S in July. It was our 10th Porsche. I've stopped driving our 911 Turbo S because the Taycan is so damn fun and so unusually special. No issues at all, except that there are not enough charging stations to inspire a road trip. I had a Tesla Model S for 7 years and was used to...
  16. Just ordered a Turbo. Help and opinions please!

I have an early Turbo S and it's been faultless and hugely satisfying. For sure you don't need the "S", but for me it was a way of driving the best things Porsche makes. The other car in our garage is a 911 Turbo S, so we were already committed to that level of equipment and performance. I...
  17. Dealer Software Update

My car is a July, 2020 Turbo S, one of the first in LA. I did not get a letter, but in a conversation with a Porsche service manager it was recommended that I bring it in for 2 updates. The update take longer than 4 hours. They keep the car overnight. My Taycan is operating perfectly, but I...
  18. A thought about Porsche pricing

Having owned 10 cars from Porsche, beginning in the last 60's, I actually like the Porsche pricing model. You could order what we might refer to as the "base Porsche" and still get a complete car with enough distinctive features to make the car a superb automobile, but having to involve yourself...
  19. Finally ordered my Taycan

Love your choices, but think twice about HUD. What does it tell you that's not already right in front of you. It's not as developed a system as you get in other cars, and I think it's something you won't use much or at all. I have a Turbo S and I never miss it. If anything it would be a...
  20. Hypothesis on Recuperation and Charging Profile

This may help. I had a Tesla Model S for many years. When I would charge to 100% or approach maximum charging I noticed that there was little or no feeling of regeneration when I applied the brakes. I spoke with Tesla and was told there is no regeneration until the battery actually needs to be...
