Coming from a E-Golf where everything just worked, both in the car and the app, the PCM is a big disappointment. I would have thought that it would (as a minimum) be as good as in the E-Golf.

Not by any chance any Porsche-employees around this forum that can ease our "worries" a bit? :)

Agree. I have rattling from the back-right door, and they tell me it is most probably due to loose wires and something with the adhesive/glue that has been used. Will be corrected together with the charge-port error, but both these issues are below expectations.

You made the correct choice, had mine with this "gimmick" and its now awaiting parts to be repaired on the right side. Not a good start with the new car.. As they describe it it looks to be a know issue.
