I got so annoyed with the CarPlay EV SoC Apple Maps feature that I disconnected it.
On my daily commute, Siri would spontaneously announce that battery information 'may no longer be accurate', and then announce again for resumption.
Seemed to happen during long stretches of no cellular data...
Yes, if you get the NEMA 5-15 adapter: https://jplusbooster.com/products/j-booster-2-nema-5-15-adapter
But beware: long charging sessions on an older home's wiring can be risky.
It might be a shared circuit, and older household 110/120V household wiring often has not anticipated continuous...
These have always been optional / deletable - not required for technical or legal reasons. Same deal with "diesel" on the old Cayennes, and "e-hybrid" on Panameras and Cayennes. It's a brand storytelling device.
I skip / opt for deletion of all that stuff including model designation on the rear...
The benefit of this writing style is that nobody has the energy to fact check such a huge wall of disclaimered opinion and cited-but-not-linked sources. Which bits are opinion? Which bits are facts? Which bits are misstated facts bent to support the author's narrative?
Here's a handy ChatGPT...
I'm not a Florida resident, but FWIW:
My signed agreement is apparently identical to others, and includes state specific amendments. For Florida it conspicuously states: "The Obligor of this Agreement is Safe-Guard Warranty Corporation, Florida License Number 60126, Two Concourse Parkway, Suite...

@chun why can't both things be true? ... that the TSB and associated comms state that (at that moment in time) the 19.6/22kW charger is NLA, and then a subsequent change in circumstances allows it to be offered again?
If there is to be a Cayenne 19.2/22kW OBC, why not have that...
I agree on the user experience aspects of Apple Maps vs the PCM Nav. I think that preconditioning helps to minimize the duration of a 'splash and dash' stop. In the US I've found that this benefit is often lost due to derated chargers (EA 350kW hardware limited to 150kW) or just having to wait...
Compared to who? The Taycan has won multiple best car accolades and was a longstanding best in class for charging speed. The new Cayenne EV appears to be a roadtripping monster. I have plenty of complaints about Porsche and my Taycan, but I would not say that they have "No clue" re: EVs.
It's important to understand that CPO or not, purchasing an Extended Warranty becomes more expensive and more complicated once the car's factory warranty has ended. In the USA, the factory warranty is not the same as the additional warranty provided by the terms of CPO. Many folks are confused...
I recall quite clearly the non-intuitive but it-really-happened 19.2 AC OBC breaking DC Plug and Play Charging. Link below.
Also came here to call out @Dee. This forum is generally quite collegiate and respectful. @Dee your combative antics across multiple threads makes you an outlier in the...
People cherry-picking PCNA hearsay/sockpuppeting, it seems. Bookmarking this alongside "Tesla will never open their supercharger network". Let's check back in 1 year.
Wish we had pinned posts. On the merits of 19.2kW/22kW charging: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/porsche-wall-charger-connect-order-receive-time.11921/post-175007
Does a route planned in the app and transmitted to the PCM result in preconditioning prior to arrival at the Supercharger stop (even if the PCM is not yet doing route planning that includes comparable SC's)?
It would still be nice to get a PDF of the 2022 model year manual. The search function of the manual view in the My Porsche app is really poor. It can't find text that I know for sure exists in the manual. And bookmarks that I save e.g. Tire Pressure tables in Technical Data, they just seem to...
So we have the J1.1 PCM era in maintenance or sunset mode, the J1.2 PCM as the supposed current development focus, the VAG-Rivian software partnership, CarPlay Ultra, and now this additional parallel path for a regional alternative PCM?
Porsche's PCM Software strategy is best characterized as...
