I did try to get a successful Porsche ID login but was unsuccessful. I then asked Porsche Bangkok how to do it. They told me I cannot. The guy that told me was brought over to Porsche Thailand from Porsche Germany to help the dealership with Taycans. Maybe he's wrong. Or maybe things are...
You say that, but Porsche Bangkok beg to differ.
I have been through all of this with my dealership and they assure me that Porsche Connect is required for Smart Lift to work in a Thai Taycan (but not in a 911, interestingly). Thai Taycans do not have Smart Lift as Porsche Connect is not...
I have tried to register my ID. It all went well until I was asked to enter my VIN and I got this message:
"The vehicle with this vehicle identification number (VIN) cannot be added. Please enter the VIN again or contact Porsche Connect Support."
Presumably I cannot register because Porsche...
Like you, I at first did not believe it was dependent on having the app but the people that I spoke with, including a German Porsche technician, convinced me it is true.
Interestingly, the 911 has Smart Lift but it does not require an app for it to work.
What explanation have you been given...

Any ideas of a simple fix which would save me driving 550 miles to the dealership in Bangkok, without aircon. It's very hot here and that journey would be a nightmare!
I'm 70. I drive my Taycan most days.
I am 6ft (183 cms), 71 kgs. I have no problems entering or exiting the car. Okay, it's not as easy as a normal car, but I don't find it a problem.
It's a wide car.
I have done about 800 miles in my car. I get the impression the regenerative braking is not yet working when I use the footbrake. How will I know when it starts to work?
What are the tell-tale signs?
Hello!
When choosing my wheels, I did not particularly like the look (in photographs) of any of the ones on offer, except the really expensive ones! And they're all much more expensive here in Thailand - $4,891 for the Sport Aero option (only $2770 in the USA.)
Anyway, I finally chose the...
Sorry, my mistake! Of course I have the button on my 14-way seats.
But, for some reason I thought someone implied that the headrests were part of the memory package and are, therefore, motorized.
