  2. SHIP WITH 1100 PORSCHES ON FIRE

Sorry, please delete. Old news. I see it has been reported elsewhere on this forum.
  3. Key Battery- needs replacement

    See post #5.
  4. Performance Battery worth $5k?

I live in Thailand and the cost here for the Performance Battery Plus is $10,499 / £7,827. I passed!
  5. No Smart Lift

I did try to get a successful Porsche ID login but was unsuccessful. I then asked Porsche Bangkok how to do it. They told me I cannot. The guy that told me was brought over to Porsche Thailand from Porsche Germany to help the dealership with Taycans. Maybe he's wrong. Or maybe things are...
  6. No Smart Lift

You say that, but Porsche Bangkok beg to differ. I have been through all of this with my dealership and they assure me that Porsche Connect is required for Smart Lift to work in a Thai Taycan (but not in a 911, interestingly). Thai Taycans do not have Smart Lift as Porsche Connect is not...
  7. No Smart Lift

To log in, I assume I need to have Porsche Connect. Porsche Connect is not available in Thailand, where I reside.
  8. No Smart Lift

I have tried to register my ID. It all went well until I was asked to enter my VIN and I got this message: "The vehicle with this vehicle identification number (VIN) cannot be added. Please enter the VIN again or contact Porsche Connect Support." Presumably I cannot register because Porsche...
  9. No Smart Lift

Okay. Is it possible for me to have a Porsche Connect ID, bearing in mind that the Porsche Connect app is not available in Thailand?
  10. No Smart Lift

Well, providing all Canadian Taycans have Smart Lift, I guess it's just a matter of Porsche finding the fault with yours. Good luck!
  11. No Smart Lift

Like you, I at first did not believe it was dependent on having the app but the people that I spoke with, including a German Porsche technician, convinced me it is true. Interestingly, the 911 has Smart Lift but it does not require an app for it to work. What explanation have you been given...
  12. No Smart Lift

Thank you for asking. I still do not have Smart Lift but at least I got an explanation from Porsche as to why: Strange as it may seem, it turns out that, for the Taycan, the Porsche Connect app is indeed required for Smart Lift to work, and the app is not available in Thailand - and will not be...
  13. Aircon not working

The aircon in my 4S has suddenly stopped working. It's blowing okay, but the air is not being chilled at all. Any ideas of a simple fix which would save me driving 550 miles to the dealership in Bangkok, without aircon. It's very hot here and that journey would be a nightmare!
  14. How practical is Taycan as a daily driver for people in their 60s?

I'm 70. I drive my Taycan most days. I am 6ft (183 cms), 71 kgs. I have no problems entering or exiting the car. Okay, it's not as easy as a normal car, but I don't find it a problem. It's a wide car.
  15. Regenerative braking finally working

I have done about 800 miles in my car. I get the impression the regenerative braking is not yet working when I use the footbrake. How will I know when it starts to work? What are the tell-tale signs?
  16. I think I'm going with Frozen...

I have the Frozen Blue. I love it! And it gets a great reaction. "Baby Blue", "Feminine Blue" - come on, get a grip!
  17. no electric sound

Are you sure you didn't dream that?
  18. Taycan Newbie Questions

Hello! When choosing my wheels, I did not particularly like the look (in photographs) of any of the ones on offer, except the really expensive ones! And they're all much more expensive here in Thailand - $4,891 for the Sport Aero option (only $2770 in the USA.) Anyway, I finally chose the...
  19. Rear axle steering (RAS) - gimmick or?

Sorry, my mistake! Of course I have the button on my 14-way seats. But, for some reason I thought someone implied that the headrests were part of the memory package and are, therefore, motorized.
  20. Rear axle steering (RAS) - gimmick or?

Moving head rests? I have 14-way seats and my head rests don't move - unless I'm missing something.
