I can tell you it didn't sound anything like a bad wheel bearing. It was like a high pitch ringing sound, almost like you might hear when your brake wear indicator is rubbing. Usually a wheel bearing is more of a growling/grinding noise but this wasn't due to your typical wear scenario...
A couple suggestions. Ask them to send the head tech on a ride along with you so your can recreate it.
Second, ask them to put a scope on the wheel bearing where you hear it coming from to see if it sounds right.
Wow, I'm disappointed in myself that I never updated this thread.
I took it to the dealer and the head tech did a ride along. He immediately identified it as a bad wheel bearing. He said they had a few of them already. They put a scope on it to confirm, replaced the wheel bearing and it...
The 2022s needed an update so either you got the update or you’re most likely not running the newest PCM. I had to update my 2022 as well. It’s possible if it was a very late 2022 maybe you got the update already. Do you have colored icons on the PCM or black and white?
I dunno if I'd go that far. The new PCM uPdate also has problems. Spotify/Apple music not allowing registration and SmartLift is now broken. I'm sure there are others.
The amount of people I read on this message board saying they don't care about battery maintenance because they won't own the car when the battery degrades makes me embarrassed to be lumped in with you all as an owner. Not because I care so much about the battery but it just shows what kind of...
I would highly recommend getting all-season tires on 19” or 20” wheels instead of high performance tires. That will help a lot with range. Keep it around 75 mph and you should be fine.
The fact that you're on the phone in your car and you think you can read the mind of an individual walking by based on how their face looks suggests there are deeper issues here. To the point where you left the vicinity and came back with a different car? Seems like a bit of paranoia.
I charged at EA in Port St Lucie, FL on Saturday evening. Now issues with plug and charge. However, they still have the older charging pedestals there. As others mentioned, if you call them they will start the machine for free.
That makes sense that pre-heating the car from battery would pre-condition the battery. I guess I don't always want to make the cabin warmer but I might still want the battery warmer. And yes, the correct term is pre-condition but in keeping with the theme of the thread I kept that...
This is somewhat widely documented. I think the conclusion is it's the rubber compound creating more friction. The weight and aerodynamics make a difference but people have gone from summers tires to all-seasons on the same wheel and seen a noticeable increase.
I have the same problem. Even...
Is there a huge batch of cars without batteries but more recently produced cars are getting batteries? I assume there hasn't been a complete delivery stoppage since July?
It seems to me there should be another type of pre-heating that nobody discusses, and maybe it's for good reason, but what about heating up the battery before you begin your drives so that the battery isn't so inefficient?
