  1. CT4 - Causing tarmac driveway to sink

Strictly speaking, it'll be macadam (made with bitumen) not tarmac (made with tar). Usage of tar was phased out 40 years ago due to being carcinogenic. Normal machine-laid asphalt correctly specified, mixed and laid should not deform as you describe unless the vehicle is stationary for a very...
  2. air suspension

Think I'm right in saying "yes, you can select Recuperation in 'Individual' mode, but not if you only have access to 'Normal' & 'Sport' ". So my minor peeve stands.
  3. air suspension

4S air suspension (2024 model year) is the perfect balance - in town the car wafts along; on the bigger roads where it is safe to do so, it has all the power that sensibly you could ever wish for. My only (very minor) regret is that Recuperation isn't "On" by default. When Recuperation is...
  4. MPGe

Have searched again and found Electric Car MPG: Top Brands Compared | EnergySage Porsche Taycan "base model" quoted as 79 MPGe. Other brands higher. Comment made in EnergySage article that quality appears inversely proportional to MPGe
  5. MPGe

UK figures published recently compare the "Miles per gallon of gasoline-equivalent" for a list of EVs. Porsche not included. Is there an MPGe figure for the Taycan 4S? Maybe someone knows?
  6. Smart Lift: Effective Distance?

    Thanks Wakesurfer, that's helpful!
  7. Smart Lift: Effective Distance?

A 'saved' Smart Lift location is remembered every time the car reaches that location. My question is: For what DISTANCE does the car remain 'lifted'? A steep driveway would be approached very slowly, whereas urban traffic calming might be approached at 30mph / 50kph. Thanks for any insight.
  8. MY24 Identifier?

    Thank you - much obliged!
  9. MY24 Identifier?

As "P" was the identifier (10th digit in the VIN), will "Q" be the identifier for MY24? Anyone know?
  10. Extended test drive?

Porsche Bournemouth were helpful in this regard - allowed me an overnight test drive. Its a wide car for narrow pot-holed Devon lanes. Am still concerned over the heater failures - some even repeat failures apparently.

  12. Hard-wired internet connection?

Hi Backslashed, thanks! It's taken a while to get to the nub of the issue which you have kindly summarised as "before leaving your house to heat/cool/precondition the car" - that is precisely why a viable signal inside the remote garage is needed!
  13. Hard-wired internet connection?

Thanks, W1nge, but do I need to have any internet availability in my (remote) garage? What do you recommend as the minimum connectivity in the garage itself?
  14. Hard-wired internet connection?

For those of us with an integral concrete garage some 50 metres (164 feet) away from my living area, there is zero chance of my WiFi being able to be picked up wirelessly by a Taycan in the garage. If I were to run a 50m length of ethernet cable from my apartment down into the garage, is there...
  15. How best to play CD music in a 4S (Bose)?

Would be grateful for advice on how to get the best audio reproduction via a 4S Bose from music currently on CD discs.
  16. Confirming the MY of a Porsche

Smoothound, this is a key question! I do hope that other UK forum members will respond and it is very relevant to me - also in Devon! I imagine there will be some software updates at the very least for MY23, but we really could do with getting some reliable information.
