Mine died when I left the car 5 months. People tell me that’s not possible, but it happened. The car was charging when the 12 volt died. It supposed to charge the 12 volt but it didn’t. 2021 model.
I believe you need a trickle charger if you leave the car sit for any length of time. I don’t care what Porsche says, the 12 volt is not charged by leaving the car attached to a level 2 charger. I experienced this myself when my 12 volt died. No notice from the Porsche app either.
We have a Taycan and a new model model Y. The FSD is great for my wife and long trips. Driving on the NJ turnpike for 2 hours is best left to the car.

i have a call with the dealer this afternoon. He wants someone to drive it after 3 months, but my person will not be able to disconnect trickle charger before driving. Dealer offered to come and drive it. I’ll see if that works.
The connection is in the drunk…somewhere. I called the dealer and they promised to get back to me. Hasn’t happened yet.
im storing the car this saturrday so I need some answers. I’ll probably use a trickle charger this winter
They started the car by jumping the 12 volt and towed to dealer. Not sure why I couldn’t just charge the old battery. I wasn’t able to test it. Took a couple days, but very annoying.
I have a 2025 Taycan and will be storing it for 6 months in the US.
Do I need a trickle charger for the 12 volt battery? Will it hurt if I do use a trickle charger?
My previous 2022 battery died when stored. What a mess! Is this still a concern.?
I remember reading many threads about this but...
