When I went in to pick up my Taycan 4S 3 weeks ago (markup was 10% in northern CA), there was a new GT3 on the floor...with a 100k markup! I asked my sales manager about it, and she said "yeah, it's a lot, but people are paying it". I was shocked.
Finally picked up my car a couple of weeks ago, and got to use my home charger. I opted for an 80A Clipper Creek (was hoping for 100A), as I only had a 1" conduit from my panel, which was a long way away, and through a thick cement stem wall. Even though I am not getting the full charging from...
I snuck in and got to see my 4s at the dealer on Sunday. They are working on the intake, inspections, etc. now, and I should be able to pick it up Wednesday afternoon! There were 7 other Taycans from the Glovis Comet delivered to that dealer, including a nice black-on-black GTS.
Here is a pic...
For those on the Glovis Comet...TYD just updated for me this morning, and my Taycan is at the dealer (original date on TYD was 5/6)! Unfortunately, they do not have a technician on the weekends, so pickup will be some time next week.
Someone had asked my spec. Here is my Porsche code...
Nice shot! It looks like you are as excited as I am. My wife just rolls her eyes at me. :)
I found a web cam of the Glovis Comet going under the Golden Gate last night...horrible night camera quality, but it was a live feed, so fun to watch it pass through. Looks like it it docked this morning.
Yeah, I saw that too, and was thinking that was odd. I guess Benecia could not take the ship in until Monday the 18th (according to my dealership), so it has been floating. The Pacific current pushed her back South (by quite a ways). Hopefully tomorrow we'll see it moving back towards Benecia.
Not sure. They haven’t updated my TYD date at all. Still a 5/6 delivery date to the dealer. What dealer are you at? I’m picking up from Niello Rocklin.
The Glovis Comet is on its last leg of the journey. It was originally supposed to make port in Benecia on 4/22, but it appears it will be about 5 days early on 5/17.
With a lease, the money you pay up front for a down payment, reduces your monthly payment. If you are comfortable with the monthly payment, don't put any additional down as you will not get it back at the end of the lease.
This is a good primer: New car leasing 101: A plain English...
The Glovis Comet is about to dock in Jamaica. It looks like it is ahead of schedule, but TYD still shows a May 6 delivery for me.
I got my garage charger installed a couple of weeks ago, and just picked up a Teslatap. Just waiting on delivery now.
Our Cayenne got rear ended in November 2021. I took it to a reputable shop that specializes in Porsches and exotics. They worked with the insurance company to get OWM parts, which took time. The parts had to come from Germany which also took time. The Cayenne was drivable and everything...
I just got notice from my dealer today, that mine just got on the ship; TYD confirmed that. So estimated date to be "On Vessel" was 3/25, and actual day was 3/17. It looks like it is on the Glovis Comet, which is schedule to be in the Benecia, CA port on 4/22.
TYD just updated mine to the same dates as yours (on the ship on 3/25, and at the dealer on 5/13). Looks like we will both be on the Glovis Comet or Glovis Champion together.
My delivery date got bumped to May 6th, but I don’t have a lot of confidence in that. It was supposed to be on the ship on 3/11, but it is still sitting in the Emden port 5 days later. I guess we’ll see once it gets loaded. I keep checking for new vehicle carrier ships in Emden, hoping one...
I agree, there are much bigger issues in the world right now than car deliveries. I am not a "prepper", and typically haven't ever worried too much about global chaos, but I actually found myself at this website for 15 minutes today, looking at different scenarios. NUKEMAP by Alex Wellerstein...
