    My 2022 Taycan 4S - 3 years later

I did not renew my porsche connect contract that came first 3 years free. The smart inspection program on porsche center console also no longer works. I'm booked for a quick update, which should be OTA (maybe I no longer can get OTA's because i didn't renew the rip off annual connect...

The Chinese Xiaomi SU7, which mimics Porsche’s Taycan.

The west has been spoiled. People in China work for much less and have the same or better outputs. Look at DeepSeek.

The Chinese Xiaomi SU7, which mimics Porsche’s Taycan.

Most "stuff" is manufactured in China/East Asia these days anyways. Products are mainly designed in the West and then made here. All the know how and technicals of manufacturing are in the hands of the Chinese and that has always been the goal of the party. This is most evient in the...

The Chinese Xiaomi SU7, which mimics Porsche’s Taycan.

The xiami phone looks like an iphone. Oh golly jee, shiver me timbers. "Imitation is the greatest form of flattery." Xiaomi is going after the purosangue next. This is copy cat strategy is exactly how business works and for some reason "innvoation" has been placed on a pedastal. If you're...

    Rear Porsche logo color/visibility

It’s unmistakably a Porsche even with the illegible letters. Wouldn’t worry too much about the brand not being visible.

Groundhog (or more likely a Raccoon) 0, Taycan -$17.8k (damage)

I had a similar incident at much lower speeds, 35-40kph and in a rural, country back road setting. A stray dog of medium size darted out in front of me at sunset. No chance to maneuver out of the ah as it jumped out right at the wrong time. it was a mean jolt and crunching sound and we...

    Average consumption — what's yours?

That number is not the average consumption. It is far from it. I don't even know what to call the number. It's the average consumption of the last consumption reading per trip, not the average across the entire trip.

    Toyota claim solid state breakthrough

These claims are true in labs and a small volume. The issues are scalability, costs and most importantly safety. being able to make a one-off with infinite resources is doable but not commercially feasible. I don’t think this tech will hit roads for another 10 years with Japan being so far...

"VW considers closing German factory for first time in 87-year history" - article

Porsche will have to weather through through waters in the global economy. They can and will. Cuts will be made and they may go a few years selling less cars until the Chinese demand bottoms out. No one knows when they will be.
