I'm going down the rabbit hole now... While it doesn't explain the discrepancy mentioned earlier, my driving pattern is certainly not conducive for good consumption numbers. Almost half of my trips are under 10 miles where the consumption is terrible.
I'm not getting 3.8, that's just what the app and the car says for total consumption. Looking at the individual trips and calculating the total from there, I only get 2.81 mi/kWh or 35.5 kWh/100 mi which I think it terrible, especially for a base Taycan.
I received this today… Unfortunately my heater failed 2 weeks ago over the weekend and I had to bring it in the following week when a loaner was available. So mine failed before getting this notice.
I totally understand the variance of range depending on weather, driving, load, etc. I also have no issue with the "guesstimator" being off because of the circumstances mentioned above can always change.
But my issue is that the car miscalculates the overall average consumption. It clearly has...
Hi,
I have my 2022 base Taycan now for almost 2 years and wanted to look into the consumption a little bit closer since the data raised some questions. In short, the average overall since I own the car is 26.3 kWh/100mi (or 3.8 mi/kWh). But I always look at the consumption while driving and...
I was sitting on the patio of a restaurant on the weekend with a beautiful view of my 2 month old Porsche Taycan. When I came back from the restroom, my wife pointed out that 2 kids were jumping in and out of the car parked next to mine throwing doors open and close. You guessed it, the door hit...
I got it for $3000 (down from $3800) for 3 years, I didn’t do much research ahead of time and therefore was not in a good negotiation position. My mistake.
But I’m ok with it, I wanted peace of mind, and even if I don’t use the full amount the extra money was worth it for me to not have to...
Thanks! Yes, it looks like I misunderstood the tax credit. I thought that it only brings what you owe at the end of the year to zero. Meaning if you owe $3000 on your tax return, you get $3000, if you owe $7500 you get $7500 etc.
I pay way more than $7500 in federal taxes throughout the year...
Of course, 150kW not 150V, thanks for the correction.
— I only plug in to the 150kW chargers so far which works out nicely for me, always brings it up to 85% within 30 mins.
— thanks for the tip limiting the charge to 200kW, I’ll set that in the charging menu.
— I used the Intelligent Range...
Hi,
I took delivery of my 2022 Taycan a month ago and absolutely love it, what a great car!
This might be a stupid question for some, but I would like to maximize the $7500 EV tax credit. But I actually don’t know if I would owe the full amount of taxes at the end of the year to take full...
I’m also an EV newbie and tag along with a question here if I may:
5. Is it ok to exclusively use Electrify America 150V fast chargers or does fast charging harm the battery in the long run?
I have a very convenient location near my office where I charge during lunch break or close by my home...
My car made an earlier vessel after being delayed for a month. Should arrive late April/early May. I’m now very much leaning towards financing as well. I think I can get a rate of 2.29% with BofA
what rates are you seeing and where?
Hi,
My Taycan RWD should be delivered in May after some shipping delays. Initially I thought about leasing the car because I’m not sure how the EVs will hold up with residual value. I would probably still lease if I could the below pricing of the current offers. But my dealer quotes me higher...
