I’ve had a few neighbours buy BYD EVs and the build quality is amazing, performance is great and the price is just insane vs any other western EV. China are doing a lot right
US only or are you wanting anyone to vote? Here in the UK we don’t need an adapter. Have charged plenty of times without issue and usually at a good price too
I’ll miss the cheaper Ionity rates.
Yeh I’m thinking the same - I rarely charge away from home but will upgrade from free to paid on a month-by-month basis when doing trips
I’m needing to renew now and have opted for the £0.00 option. Unless I’m missing something, it seems like a no brainer paying nothing for the convenience of charging via a single app and receiving a single invoice, and the prices appear slightly lower that just swiping a contactless card and...
I’ve had my car three years and of that, one entire year has been without working navigation. I’m pleased Porsche have woken up but patience has been well and truly tested
Yes that’s a really good point - the Taycan was a great achievement from Porsche. It feels now like it’s going the same was as the iPhone/iPad though in that it’s not keeping up as the rest of the market evolves. 7 years on you’d hope for a 400+ mile range etc
I did yeh, but more for the upgraded sound system and the wheels and a few other extras than the performance. It didn’t seem to let me chose the base model but upgrade the stereo
These cars can be hard work to own so most on here would advise never to own one without a warranty. Even a small issue can cost thousands. Porsche are also quick to absolve themselves of responsibility if they think the battery has been damaged rather than has broken.
personally I would...
My dealer begrudgingly agreed to sort the update next week when I'm in for an MOT. They reckon the MOT will take 3 hours, software update 2 hours, so "most of the day in total". I'm very interested to see what takes 3 hours on an MOT test for an electric car.
Exactly this - I've just begrudgingly renewed Connect because Remote Climate and app based control are key reasons why I enjoyed moving to an EV, and almost all my charging is done at home using OVO so I need the car to be online to benefit from much cheaper electricity rates.
On a recent trip...
Did this trip again this week and took @MrB ’s advice, staying at the holiday inn Coquelles on the want home. Nobody using the Ionity chargers, achieved 249kwh. Great hotel too.
Main thing to report is that we left earlier than planned due to the heat with 87% SoC. EV chargers at Disney hotels...
For the service to have 99.99% uptime like the majority of cloud services. It’s consistently not available in the UK (check the U.K. sub forum). That’s all.
