    PCM updates on the J1.1

Looks like Porsche is not willing to update J1.1 cars because the update proces is complicated and expensive for them. And sales of Porsche Taycan is lower than expected. Important factor for sales dalling down is huge depreciation of electric Porsche. Important reason for it is lack of software...

Air Suspension - Frequent air release noise

I used to drive with no boot lid for some time - then I diagnosed loud 1st gear, confirmed by Porsche service. I have a service visit planned next week. But not the suspension air release. I have my back seat in place, with boot lid. And I can hear the air releasing sound number of times on my...

Air Suspension - Frequent air release noise

I drive Taycan CT for 2,5 years but noticed the “pufff” noise last months. The sound is coming from rear right side. Typically on turning right, when right side is lightened. I could believe it is normal behavior. But why I have not heard it before?

    No fan while fast DC charging (temp 49 C / 120 F)

My dealer has L3 charger but I was only able to get 60kW. I did not precondition the battery, I suspect the charger uses energy storage for more power - which was empty. No fan started, but I could hear some „hydraulic” noises on the right side of the car. Which I could not hear the day before...

    No fan while fast DC charging (temp 49 C / 120 F)

I had scheduled service visit for today, fans were checked and work fine. btw my service advisor asked if my fans were replaced - which shows they are replaced to new type of item. There was a thermal error in registry but I could not get any feedback wether or not if it was connected with case...

    No fan while fast DC charging (temp 49 C / 120 F)

Battery was preconditioned, AFAIR 34 C / 93 F (I had low SoC, 4%, navigation was leading me to the charger but giving messages it cannot find charger around and pushing for manual setting the charger). During charging battery temperature went up, at around 46-48 C and 50% SoC I stopped charging...

    No fan while fast DC charging (temp 49 C / 120 F)

Hi! Tonight during 500km/300miles trip I was charging at HPC (Ionity), charging speed was around 250kW and … it was completely silent. No fan on both side of Taycan. When temperature achieved 49 C / 120 F i stopped charging, set battery friendly DC charging option, checked both fans if they can...

    A positive Taycan post...kind of

Last summer my AC charger failed. I got Cayenne from assistance. 3.0 V6. Comfort? Yes. Handling, performance, throttle response? Don’t joke;) Economy? 13l/100km on highway (140-150kmh). Then after 5 days I got Macan T from the dealer. 2.0T. Handling is much better, throttle response still late...

Has anyone purchased car specific bag sets?

kjust is a polish brand AFAIK. Where do they produce their bags - no idea. Friend of mine was using it in his BMW, was happy how they fit, but not so with durability. They have number of suitcases of different sizes, and make sets for different cars. Looks like two back cases are relatively...

Porsche working on making SoH available to owners - Article

I guess SoH parameter we can get from Car Scanner app via OBDii is not the degradation. My last reading of SoH was around 92% afrer 40kkm, the real capacity is between 82 and 84kWh, maximum capacity I could ever count (distance x consumption / % used) was 86kWh. So the degradation (loss of...

ALK/Innodrive and FoD not available on Taycan MY25??

@Jasper4S , I have different experience with both, ALK and IRM (range manager). Check if you have ALK on. Your description seems to refer to LKA. ALK It’s not driving the car as stable as Tesla AP, but it works good enough on highways and roads with visible lines. And is not annoying as AP was...

Gen 1 vs Gen 1.5 differences

I experience hv heater replacement - no towing, predictive maintenance. New heater is integrated with inverter afaik, it's completely redesigned. Gen 1 heater are also fixed. Battery is completely new, comes from CATL instead of LG. We will see. I know cases of transmission replace. The reason...

    Charging at 269 kW

My max is 266kW. Last charge on Ionity was 250kW, still impressive. Then I noticed 190kW at 57% SoC, and not bad 120kW at 78%. Then usually I see a drop to 80kW. Side efect is a battery temperature - 55 C is max what I noticed, then reduced to 52 C by the end of the charge (I usually unplug...

Kyle Conner goes 311 miles in '25 Taycan 70mph range test

I see disappointment in your comments and I was so at first watching Kyle. But then I check old 70mph range tests and here are my comparison and findings: - 1st gen Sedan RWD, 19”: 293 miles - 1st gen CT4, 19”: 251 miles - 2nd gen ST4S, 21”*: 311 miles So the ST on narrower (245/285) 21” did...

    Porsche Active Ride

IMO (!!!) it's not PAR which makes new Taycan more comfortable then the 1 gen. It is thanks to double valve dampers or any other modification to air suspension. I used to have Adaptive Drive in BMW. I was buying it for driving dynamics, but the benefits were on comfort side. Disconnected...

Kyle shows you: "How To Option The New 2025 Porsche Taycan"

He has. I watched his reviews in 2022 when I was ordering mine. He was driving CT4 that time. He is maybe not the biggest Prsche fan, but an enthusiast of Taycan. I found valuable hints in his videos.

Is preheat killing my range or is this normal?

Timer starts preparing the car usually an hour before time set. It warms the battery and the cabin. So big battery drain is strange to me. However, SoC are not measured precisely. When I leave the can after the trip, battery temperature is usually above 20 C. After couple of hours on cold, the...
