After being on the forums here for almost four years I can't believe I haven't asked this question here earlier, but here goes: 2023 4S CT My wife and I both drive the car regularly. Each of us has an iPhone that connects to CarPlay wirelessly, and both of us use CarPlay frequently. Every once...

    2025 taycan 4s ct

Just did a quick check. While there doesn't appear to be a way to access "Function on Demand" from the Porsche app anymore, if you go to the Porsche USA website and login to your account, you can see the service offerings there.

    2025 taycan 4s ct

+1 to what @alik says above. I did try the free trial monthly subscription on my 4S CT a year or two ago and had a very similar impression. To be fair, it’s not awful. It works “reasonably” well. But the deal killer for me was how rabid the system was about requiring hands back on wheel after...

    Carmine red taycan

Beautiful. After placing my order I stressed out about the black door handles I had spec’d on my Mamba Green CT. They ended up looking great, but they look particularly good on your red.

Over the Air Software Update bricked car - 'Performing Update Vehicle not ready to drive.'

I saw that. I work for a FAANG with our own extensive AI coding investments and let’s just say it’s umm… far from perfect.

Over the Air Software Update bricked car - 'Performing Update Vehicle not ready to drive.'

Lol! Sadly, I’m intimately familiar with internal corporate BOM wars. I very much wish I wasn’t. Yeesh. This thought just made my blood run cold… ?

Over the Air Software Update bricked car - 'Performing Update Vehicle not ready to drive.'

No question. The firmware and embedded systems programmers of decades long-past certainly had hard restrictions that made those vulnerabilities possible. But those restrictions have been much relaxed over the years (e.g., even small systems now have plenty of memory and storage for multiple...

Over the Air Software Update bricked car - 'Performing Update Vehicle not ready to drive.'

The amount of user shaming here is a bit unsettling. I’ve been developing software for 40+ years and this is obviously poor software design, particularly given that it’s an end-user consumer device. Full stop. No software update process should ever brick the device, no matter what the user...

I just got the ARB7 OTA update!

There's a recall site, customized to each vehicle? How do I access it? Thanks, - Chris

Extended Warranty Pricing from Porsche - 2025

FWIW, the quotes I gave were all from purchase date (i.e., include the initial “free” warranty that comes with the car).

Extended Warranty Pricing from Porsche - 2025

I’m going through similar conversations with my dealer, in Southern California. Their quotes: PROTECTION PFS ELECTRIC VEHICLE SERVICE EV PLAT VSC - IN WARRANTY - 60 MO/$100 DEDUCTIBLE, TERM MILES - 60000 $4,533 PROTECTION PFS ELECTRIC VEHICLE SERVICE EV PLAT VSC - IN WARRANTY - 72...

    My first Porsche

I’ve had virtually the same car for two years now (Mamba Green, 4S CT). Utterly love the car— despite having to reboot the PCM every week ;). My wife and I often comment about how we think the color is one of our absolutely favorite things about the car.

Anyone carry around the charge cable that came with the car?

I carry ours in the frunk, only because I've never gotten around to removing it (two years in). ? I've literally never taken the thing out of the bag, never used it. I guess part of me feels it could be useful in an emergency, although it's hard to imagine what that would look like.

    Taycan Turbo vs. Taycan 4S

I drive a 4S CT and am very fond of it. And for me, it’s a damn fast (enough) car. A couple months ago I attended a private event at the LA Experience Center. Half of our time was in a Taycan Turbo (sedan), the other half was in a 911 S. I got into the Turbo with a smug grin, thinking this...

Scared the CRAP out of me

In the 15-months I’ve had it, the car has thrown a handful of collision false alarms serious enough to initiate emergency braking. Very startling, and it sure gets the pulse going! More importantly, twice it alarmed and autonomously braked when it was NOT a false alarm. I am convinced that both...
