Thank you for posting. Quick question, how do you like the Extech paint thickness gauge? I have been looking for a quality lower cost option to the DeFelsko PT6000.
Update: either the dealer is horrible at working with porsche in Germany or a full new battery is hard to come by. Either way, I am receiving two new replacement cells from Germany. Expecting to be in this base Macan loaner for 2 - 3 months
The dealership came back and said they found 2 bad cells and is waiting for Porsche Germany to respond. Hopefully they replace the whole battery as this the second set of cells that have gone bad in the last 4 months
Update: The dealership is indicating cell #12 is bad and needs to be replaced. Waiting guidance from Porsche Germany on next steps. I asked for a full battery replacement since they have already replaced 9 cells. We shall see what happens.....
Update: After two and half months I got my car back from service. They diagnosed 9 cells needed to be replaced under warranty.
Unfortunately I had the car for about a month and received the "red circle of death" a couple days ago. The car has been at the dealer since and have not heard back yet...
How long ago was this? I heard from my SA that lately there have been more problems with batteries and the wait is longer. Trying to confirm if this is true or is he trying to push me into buying a new Taycan :)
Update. One of the cells in the battery needs to be replaced and is coming from Germany. Unfortunately, my dealer has no update on how long it will take to receive the battery.
Has anyone heard anything on lead times this month?
My Taycan turbo was just diagnosed with a bad cell for the main battery. Just wondering what lead times those of you who need a replacement cell are seeing.
Thank you
If I was looking for a 2020 Taycan I would only purchased a certified pre-owned unit. You will have at least 2 years of warranty and the peace of mind if something goes wrong it will likely get repaired. Porsche customer service for me has been awesome
One other quick question Derek. You mentioned the Pzeros are quieter than the PS4S. Do they grip and steer as well? Upon closer inspection my rears are definitely at the wear bars but my fronts are probably good through the winter. With the impending release of the MIchelin PS S5, I am wondering...
