Thanks for posting this. That is a lot of work. Was hoping the bumper didn't need to come off. I declined my dealer's offer to replace mine with a new one for $600 when my car was in for the brake line recall. That included painting the center area silver too. Should have done it 🤦

I only have this issue if the AC is set to manual mode and recirculating. In AUTO mode, the vent stays on for a bit with fresh air mode after the car is turned off, possibly to help dry out the coil?
