Fancy seeing you here, @DGI. I gave my wife the Taycan Turbo and bought an Artura Spider. I adore the McL, but for daily use, I really miss the Taycan. Took a trip down to LA last weekend in her car and it was a delight to drive. You'll miss the 12C but the Taycan is a great car too. And...
Great write-up, Dave! Glad they got you out there, saw some other people chatting about the event.
Between the 750S and the Artura, I've read that the Artura is fun at 6/10ths when the 750S is boring, and the 750S is fun at 10/10ths when the Artura is struggling. I've only got some test drive...
Hopefully taking mine out to Sonoma next month. We'll see, I've got a lot going on health and work-wise right now. In street driving, at least, the Artura is better than the 750S to me. Artura is lots of fun at 6/10ths and playful. You start to feel the weight more when pushed harder, but I...
I also went from a Taycan to a McLaren, and Frozen Blue to Ludus Blue - but an Artura like @jish. I daily it and love it. It's also proven to be more reliable than my Taycan was :)
Wow, a lot of interesting replies here. I don't understand how some folks can say "Well, if you don't charge, they'll just bake it into the cost" and then others say "it's a six figure car, you can afford it" and finally "well at least it's not a Bolt where it's provided for free".
It's...
Recently picked up an Artura Spider as a daily driver and gave my wife the Taycan. Pleasantly get to drive both still. Totally tracks with what's said above - they're both amazingly brilliant cars and it really is apples and oranges. Love getting in the Taycan on the weekends with the whole...
New hydraulic unit fixed mine as well. Mind mentioning the dealer? Sounds like you went through quite an ordeal for them to do the work. Mine was proactive about it...
Brake systems are hydraulic and require a "brake booster" to generate the proper line pressure to activate the calipers. On many cars these are vacuum driven from the engine (or on some hydraulically driven from the power steering pump). On the Taycan I'm assuming they're using an electric motor...
Market is still not entirely back to normal. For instance, my Lotus is worth 50% more than I paid fourteen years and 10k miles ago. 911's of all varieties are still crazytown. But there's definitely been a solid correction for many cars.
FWIW, my brake pedal feel was awful. Thought "they all do that, sir" since all the wonderful magazine reviews complained about poor brake feel.
Brought it in for the brake recall, hoses replaced, unit reprogrammed, still awful. Booster was bad. Great service, they didn't even return it before...
Yeah, that's not right. After it finishes deciding to "clean" the brakes from the first few stops you should be able to max out that regen. I'd take it in.
There's some bad cells in it definitely. Range has reduced significantly, but in a 2015 there's no range guarantee other than "completely failed pack", and that almost never happens because they just stop using bad cells. Newer models have a range guarantee.
They replaced the battery in my Model S at 18k miles and I wish they did it again. Porsche is clearly going through teething issues with their first BEV, but I prefer them being proactive here.
I got Tesla insurance when it first came out. They couldn't figure out billing. Dropped me for non-payment without notice. Then sent me an apology letter and begged me to come back.
I figured if an insurance company can't even figure out how to take in money... which is the whole point of it...
