2022 Taycan Shutting off while parked.

I have a 2022 Taycan Turbo S and I’ve been experiencing my Taycan shutting off while parked and sitting in the vehicle. First time it happened I was sitting I the car for about 15 min and the car just shut down as if I turned it off. Second time it happened I was charging at a charging station and after about 30 min or so it shut down again. Has anyone else experienced this??

Yes, it's a feature. It shuts itself down after a certain amount of time sitting there. It's in the manual somewhere and there are a few threads about this going back many years.

thank you for your response. I’m very new to the Taycan stuff as I just purchased it a month ago. Any reason why it shuts down after random times. Each time it did that it was different time intervals.

I suggest you check the manual or search for the old threads. The google search option on this forum works much better than the native search.

Shuts down after 30 mins. Annoying - but as specified in the manual.

My 2021 shuts down like clockwork after 30 minutes every time.
It must be a battery saver option

If you want to have climate control running with a stopped car you can select precool/heat from the central display with the car off. It will run for 60 minutes presuming the battery has sufficient charge.

Good point. I usually use the precool when it is very hot out where I parked in the sun and turn precool on from the app 5-10 minutes before I get back to the car. I just turn the car back on every 30 minutes when I’m waiting in the car doing emails or on a call.

Thanks that’s great to know especially in the Arizona heat.

All you need to do is hit the park button again, or change the radio, then it will reset the timer. Since it doesn’t apparently have a walkaway then lock feature, you can’t even lock it from the app unless it’s off.
Watch it when you’re parked and on the phone, it will switch back over to the phone when it shuts down too.
I just put it into drive then park every 10-15 min.

I try not to be on the phone for 30+ minutes in the car but I do spend a lot of time catching up on emails when I’m waiting. Sometimes an hour or more to go through 100s of messages or more every day. I actually do appreciate the 30 minute shut down to alert me every 30 minutes so I don’t let too much time get away from me…
