4G/5G not working whilst using wireless CarPlay

When my car is using wireless CarPlay (so connected to the car’s direct wireless SSID), my phone stops sending and receiving any data. Any ideas?

It's because you likely don't have the additional data package for the PCM and so your phone is attempting to get data via the PCM and not via its own SIM.

Don't use iPhone myself but don't you need to connect via Bluetooth (separately or in addition)?

That makes sense. I will try Bluetooth. I had thought Wi-Fi was required to use Apple CarPlay.
