Need some advice from forum members please.

So, I ordered an aftermarket winter wheel/tire combination for my GTS sedan from CARiD. With previous cars, I have always purchased winter wheels/tires from Tire Rack with good results and no issues. Tire Rack has no or very limited options for a winter wheel/combo which prompted to the purchase from CARiD. I checked with my local dealer -- 7K for a set of Porsche wheels/tires (thought I could be more economical for winter beaters)

I made the transaction in July -- Savini wheels set 20/8.5 front and 20/10.5 rear with 255 and 295 width tires, respectively. I received the package at the end of August. I noted that there were two valve stems on the wheels...an inner stem and outer stem (which I have never had previously but didn't think much of it at the time). After checking for damage, I stored with sets in the basement until I was going to mount the wheels at home closer to winter.

This past weekend, I decided it was time to make the switch from the 21" Porsche RS Spyder wheels to my new winter set-up. Everything was going well until the last wheel when I noted that the an inner valve stem was going to hit the the bracket for the brake line --

Otherwise, there appeared to be no issues. When I purchased this set from CARiD, the website stated "guaranteed fit" -- which clearly isn't the case. Thankfully, I did't drive the car without recognizing this problem (likely bad outcome). So, proceeded to switch all the tires back to factory 21" set.

Next day, I called CARiD, looking for advice. They put me on hold very close to 30 min and then proceeded to say that there was nothing they could do. I should have assessed the fitment within 30 days but now they wouldn't honor any "guaranteed to fit" statements. Their advice -- check with a local shop to address the problem. I protested initially with a calm demeanor which became much less so by the end when they were unwilling to help because I was beyond their fine print 30 days. Maybe I was expecting too much.

Now I have 4 winter wheels that don't fit my car.

Options?

-Buy spacers -- 12 mm would likely provide enough clearance.
-See if the inner valve stem can be removed?

thanks for any input!

I will do good quality wheel spacers. It will be easy and not too costly. Less than $200 for good quality. Then you can keep them in summer too.

Thanks for the responses. My first thought was to get spacers. Not sure what impact that will have on the suspension. Any thoughts on potential negative consequences? Was hoping a 12-15 mm spacer would be okay.

was unaware ofthe other valve stem options. Thank you.
