It’s the only feature I don’t care much for on my 2020 Taycan Turbo. I prefer a tighter steering feel even at very low speeds.

Dealer visit and disable via PIWIS.

I suspect you'll miss it as it works exceptionally well IMHO.

I agree. I cant imagine wanting it disabled but the dealer can do it for you. I have no idea if they would charge or again if you want it re-enabled. But beware, it is standard in the US so you will be making it a non standard spec

Say more….is it the improved high speed steering that I’ll miss? I definitely don’t like the looser feel at low speeds.

It's perfectly weighted at all speeds and never 'loose' or over assisted.

I suspect you'll miss it as the option introduces speed sensitivity and without it the assistance will be the same at all speeds rather than progressively stiffer as you speed up.

It has been an FoD option and should be simple to disable / enable.

Assuming the dealer is willing to shut it off (which is uncertain given the fact that Porsche doesn’t offer the car without it) it should only be a few hundred bucks to reinstall if you find you do actually prefer it. Can’t hurt to ask the dealer.

I asked the very same question a few months ago but I didn't get much of an answer. I don't like PS+ either but I optioned my Taycab with RWS so I am stuck with it. The steering is still very precise at low speed but feels looser and less communicative, at least compared to non PS+ or other sports car. I was able to compare it on Cayman, 911 and Cayenne (but not on Taycan) and I much prefer the non PS+ steering.

My local dealer sadly refused to disabled it but I bet some will.

It only affects steering at speeds under 30mph. Above this it has no effect. So once you get going on any road where you might want to have some fun it is not having any effect. It only helps with parking and slow speeds round town.

Porsche seems to market it as further tightening at higher speeds as well. My interpretation was that it’s tighter at higher speeds non-PS+ but perhaps that’s incorrect,

It gets stiffer at speed - higher speeds again it stiffens further.

Power Steering Plus operates on the basis of the vehicle’s speed. It reacts directly and accurately at high speeds while providing greater assistance for lower speed manouevres.

I guess I’ll take the looser lower speed feel for the amazing feel at highway speeds!

Basically means nothing. Knowing Porsche, PS+ might even have different setting for different model, I have yet tried a GTS but I bet it has less assistance.

I've had PSP on all of my Porsches and the current two for over 20+ years. Absolutely different behaviour on all vehicles (that's obvious) and tuned to the dynamics of the car. I had a T4S prior to my TGTSST - both with Rear Axle Steer (RAS) - and to be honest I doubt I could discern a difference in steering (both excellent). Compare across the model range then yes, different characteristics.

I'm in a loaner 4S right now and before I drove it off the dealer lot I knew it did not have PS+. When parking it's very noticeable how stiff it becomes. On higher speeds there is minimal difference as designed.
