Hi all!

After a longish 7 month wait and tracking my car half way around the world, my pick up is now scheduled for this Wednesday (2 days!!).

Thanks for all the feedback during the spec phase.

Just wanted to see if anyone has any tips for pick up day? Anything in particular to look out for? My previous/current car is a Tesla so there was lots to check from a quality point of view at pick up lol

My spec (prob went overboard lol):

4S
Ice grey metallic
RS Spyder wheels with colour logo centres (also done something a little different and arranged for dealer to get these painted in gloss black, nervous to see the final result)
Black/Crayon leather interior
18 way seats and 4+1, crest on front seats
Model and window trims in black
Pano roof
Sport Chrono
Sport Sound
Rear wheel steering
Thermal glass
Black/illuminated door sills
Ambient lighting
Passenger display
Dashcam

I'll post some pics once I pick up, getting excited!

Check for cracks in the pano roof.

Check the SOS light in roof panel is green (=coms are working)

If you haven't done already, then create a profile on the myporsche website before going in. Get them to set up your my porsche app / link it to the car.

Make sure all of the charging cables/EVSE etc are in the car.

Check what freebies they give you. Any better than an iPhone cable then you're doing better than me!

@PeterNA
My tip is what @W1NGE advised:
When you go to pick up your new Taycan at the dealer, do not accept the car and drive away from the dealer until:
(1) the SOS light by the mirror is green, and
(2) your driver account (and secondary driver's account) are registered in the PCM, and your myporsche account on your smart phone is communicating with the car.

Congrats on the new custom vehicle! Agree with above - my rep was very helpful with getting everything set up before leaving the lot.

Being one of the last prior to the facelift, are you planning to negotiate the final price? Wonder how you fair with a custom build. I have my second Taycan on route and set to arrive in 3 weeks. Would love to hear the end result!

Yeah thanks for the response, and yes an interesting time. I've been monitoring the whole value topic, particularly the Taycan and facelift considerations. I've come to accept that I will be making a loss - I do think we've forgotten about cars and values through COVID and we are getting back to normal, with the added impact of global economic influences around interest rates and general downturn (alot less buying cars and particularly top end) . I'm selling my '20 Telsa 3 Performance and am taking a huge hit on that, its across the board. So have accepted that but in saying that, I did speak to my dealer about a month ago. I got a descent discount when negotiating the original purchase, and they've also now come to the party with a good deal on some follow ups (wheel painting, tinting, dashcam and including extended warranty). I'm comfortable. Cars are not an investment and honestly, if im as happy with the car as I expect I will be, it's a happiness vs financial decision for me.

Sorry that got a bit 'lifey' lol
