Really not worth it. You only get about 1% per hour of charge. Also, Porsche says don't use 110 charging for more than 8 hours consecutively.

Has anyone had experience charging with 110 V in a pinch?

General Precautions on (125V) Supply Cable Use

The “domestic” (125V) supply cable is provided for emergency use only, and should not be used by customers for daily home charging. Please discuss installation and use of a suitable 250V circuit with all customers.
so yeah - no - next question?

110/120 volt charging works fine. I was on vacation and had no choice unless I wanted to drive a distance to a DC charger so I plugged into a 20 amp circuit with a Tesla Mobile Connector. Charged at around 1 kW (3 miles of range per hour). Outlet barely got above ambient temp. Obviously won't work if you are driving 50 miles a day but will get you back some range overnight. A 10 amp circuit will be marginal.

I am too old - probably be dead of natural causes before it reached 80%.

OP did say "in a pinch". On a regular basis 120 volt charging is right up there with paint drying or watching grass grow.

in a pinch it's fine to get 1% an hour charge if you need to get some extra or trickle charge over night...

I’ve done it several times. More like 1.5% an hour. Quite useful as a backup option especially if you’re going to be staying at someone’s house a few days. I even used it a couple times for just a couple hours when that 3% SoC bump provided some margin for peace of mind.

When I first got my Taycan, it was when Porsche recalled the 220v dongles for the mobile charger, so I had no choice but to charge using a 110v regular household plug. As stated in this thread and others, you get about 2-3 miles of range per hour this way. It works just fine. It's just agonizingly slow. Upgraded to a Chargepoint 220v, 40amp home charger and now get about 25 miles of range per hour.

So, to answer your question, yes. In a pinch, it'll get you 2-3 miles per hour.

yes. it is very slow, you'd get about 3 miles added per hour of charging.
the one winter that I spent in colorado and had to park outside I would plug my tesla into a 110 line to help keep the battery warm and limit vampire loss.

If you have the standard battery you will get roughly 1.5% per hour at 1.2Kw charging rate. It is very slow but If you drive less than 36 miles per day on average it works fine if you charge overnight for 10-12 hours every night.
If you have the bigger battery capable of 370 miles instead of 225 miles then it’s unlikely you drive less than 36 miles per day since you paid the premium to get the higher range.
There are no longer any issues from Porsche concerning 120V charging as long as your service advisor confirms there are no recalls on the charging system still outstanding.
Feel free to charge for as many days as you need to when you go out of town with you car just sitting in your garage.
Charging at 1.2Kw will add at least 72 miles per day of your don’t care about the extra cost per kWh during prime time.
The standard battery will charge from 5% to 100% in 3 days or from 25% to 100% in 2 days while you’re away.
I only charge to 85% to 90% since I don’t really need my Taycan fully charged every day. As long as I have 50-75 miles available each day I’m likely to only drive 20-30 miles around town 90% of the time. So over the course of a week I always end up with more miles than I need so the 120V charger just tops it off each day most of the time from 150 at the lowest and back up to 190 which is 85% for me.
We have 3 other vehicles we use for longer trips so the Taycan only gets used on long trips maybe 2-3 times a year at most. We don’t need the larger performance battery so the fact I can’t install 220V in my detached garage is not such a big deal for us but hopefully I can find a way to do it at some point in my townhome where the Taycan gets parked. I wish I had more time at home to drive my baby but unfortunately I travel by air 75% of the year for business & pleasure so none of my vehicles get driven more than 5K miles each year.
For me 120V charging is perfectly fine for my driving needs.
