today I was out shopping and upon returning to the car for the ride home I got the dreaded electical system fault message in the right silo, the car would power up but would engage to drive. I shit the car down, opening the door to completely shut it down. I spent about seeing about getting a tow from PCNA road service, nightmarish experience.
while I was struggling to arranga a tow I true the car and viola no warning message and I was able to drive.
the big question is was this just another wonky PCM bug or do I need to be concerned about a failure?

If you think of the car as a large Microsoft laptop (I say Microsoft as in my experience Apple don't generally have problems) then IMO there's no problem ignoring error messages since 'have you tried shutting it down and turning it on again' advice from a weary IT technician normally works. I've had 'critical' error messages suggesting I stop and contact Porsche immediately but ignored them. The last time I drove for about 30 miles with no air suspension (I pretended I was in a race car), but it all sorted itself out when I got back to the car having charged up at my next planned stop and never re-occured.

I take the point about some messages being critical to the point of stopping you from driving the car, but again, stopping, locking and walking away from the car for 20 minutes will 9/10 make the car think you don't love it anymore and it'll see sense and start trying to impress you again.

Just make sure all your software is fully up to date as a lot of these critical error problems have been sorted out ?
