This is the real issue with EV charging (at least speaking for NA) …. I can safely predict the functional reliability of Fast Chargers will improve - and at the same time that EVs on the road are scaling significantly - then we will hit the power Infrastructure bottleneck …… shifting our conversation from reliability and availability of fast EV chargers, to the availability of the power for using them. We can expect time based throttling and TOU pricing to be the norm in the public infrastructure.
This is yet another Initiative which I would normally roll my eyes at ….. But I am currently consulting with/advising a few major actors in this Generation and distribution space … and i can tell you this is the real difficult frontier for EV charging and given the time and capital and number of players it takes to resolve this ……… while competing with the decarbonization and drive to green agenda …. It is a tricky issue ……
