In 2007 before kids I had more time and money and was doing track days in a Boxster. I thought Lotus Exige. More track focused.
I went to Dick Lovett in Swindon. The salesman said I will drive first then you take over.
Light rain. Greasy road (the other side of the hedge).
First gentle left hander he accelerated and lost the back end, overcorrected and I remember going sideways at 60 mph looking out of the passenger side window and thinking ‘Oh dear’.
Them my mind goes blank. I have no memory of the flight.
End up upside down in a field after jumping the hedge.
My head was in the furrow.
No injuries at all. Just some dirt in my hair. Salesman driver also uninjured.

I went back the week after to Porsche Swindon next door and told them I wanted a GT3 with a roof and a roll cage. They said ‘Of course sir’

After a crash like that, a GT3 seems like a safe and almost sane alternative!

I had an Elise. Bent the rear suspension and two wheels....wet and heavy right foot.

Taking an Elise out in greasy conditions, +no ESP, + what appears to be semi-click tyres that no doubt were stone cold and in any case no suitable for these conditions; and then to top it off taking a bend at 60mph .... there was no chance you'd ever make it through without a wreck...

This sounds like recklessness and gross negligence on his side
