Hi everyone!

I just joined the forum. Been browsing a long time, and just enjoying the discussion and pictures.

I have a freeze date at the end of April, and I wanted some more input other than the dealer's

http://www.porsche-code.com/PNJ1ZF99

My original intent was to have the car in satin ppf, and paint the brake calipers a light blue to match the glacier lettering and headlights.

However, I'm getting some conflicting info on what the glacier headlights look like. Some pictures show the lights (when lit) with a blue hue, while others show that it's just white with blue plastic when off.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Personal choice but don't go down the blue path for lettering or calipers. Remember this is a GTS where black is typically the colour for highlights used. Rear lettering in blue looks odd IMHO.

Skip palado - doesn't suit the car and certainly not a GTS model.

Skip the electric badge - pointless and looks a bit tacky (sorry).

PDCC - if you intend to track and like to press on otherwise you may not experience the benefit.

Neodyme - check in the flesh first - can appear gold / chintzy to some tastes.

Mirror base in body colour may look better.

Race-tex B-pillar - plastic otherwise

End of the day your choices and I don't think you've missed anything out given the standard GTS spec is good as is

Looks good.

Only recommendation is to add the B-Pillars (lower) in race-tex to complete your race-tex interior and add the no-cost smoking package which is basically a removable insert you'd get for one of the cupholders for random storage use or just as a neat cover even if you don't smoke.

Thanks for the feedback! Looks like Race-tex B-pillar is a common choice. I just assumed that it would all be Racetex... I guess I was wrong.

I like the mirror base in gloss back, since the exterior trim is in gloss black. IMO, the full mirror in all the same color looks strange to me, like they forgot to add masking tape to the stem or something. Just a personal preference I guess.

You're right, electric badge is a bit tacky, I just added it since it's free.

I'm really on the fence about the blue. Personally, I love light blue/teal color, especially if the headlights come out like this:

Reminds me of the scifi space ship thrusters.

As per @masmole 's suggestion, I added the smoking pack. Not sure what I'm going to do with it, but free shit, right?

Colour's very subjective.... But light blue liggts/lettering/brakes would be a no from me :)

Agreed - might be ok for other Taycans (although wouldn’t be my choice) but not for the GTS for the reasons mentioned above.

Id love to hear more about the reasoning on why not the GTS. I’m not quite understanding the black highlights and how else the GTS is special in terms of color.

The GTS is ‘known’ for the black highlights - black-tinted lights, gloss black trim etc, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t spec a GTS exactly how you would want it!

Ahh, I see. I honestly picked GTS because it seemed like the best trim to get all of the options that I want, but with more performance than the 4S.

Look at all other non Porsche Taycan models - Boxster, Panamera, 911, Macan, Cayenne - all have a GTS variant.

Carmine Red was initially released on GTS models (not that I'd recommend that colour).

Black wheels, vents, window surrounds, headlight mouldings, aero, rear diffuser etc.

It's your choice at the end of the day nor do you need to feel obliged to conform.

Rear light strip lettering in blue isn't great (it doesn't light up) and becomes a colour clash. Black is standard and unfortunately the non black version available on all other Taycans isn't available.

See my build below:
Had a disappointing call from my dealer today. Ordered Taycan GTS in November. Build confirmed PNSGX3X8 and deposit placed December 12, 2021 for March allocation. Delivery scheduled for May 19, 2022.

Called today to inform me that the car started construction on April 10 but production has now stopped due to unavailability of certain parts, notably wiring harness. New delivery date in Dallas scheduled for June 24, 2022.

Oh well........

My 4S is vulcano gray, but I did not spec it for my GTS. Lighter colors work better in general with the GTS, because of the contrast with GTS trims.

There is a question about B-pillar Race-tex being available right now. My order wasn't accepted with it chosen. My SA is trying to get confirmation about this..

Yes, some of the interior panels are made in Ukraine and potentially this is one of them.

Consider adding the two on-board charging upgrades. It’s reassuring to know that you will always be able to charge at the fastest possible rate that the charging infrastructure allows.
