My GTS is leather, though the steering wheel is race-Tex. I prefer the leather but it was a CPO so had what it had.
Same for me: a MY23 CPO GTS with full leather - I wouldn't have bought it with Race-Tex. It came with a Race-Tex steering wheel but I've changed that for leather, too - I find the Race-Tex wheel too slippery in the hands.

As I mentioned before the race-Tex wheel has grown on me and I’m committed to cleaning it every two or three months. But I did look into a leather wheel and it was going to cost about 5k to change it :/

did you do it yourself? Which wheel did you choose? Paddles might be nice for some more programmable buttons.

Yes, I did it myself - there's a thread on this forum somewhere with blow-by-blow steps of what I did. The heated leather wheel came from eBay - can't remember how much but a couple hundred pounds. No paddles - but it's electric so that's only a gimmick.

First-world problems, I know - especially given World events - but if I may crave your indulgence for a while, and coming back on-topic: GTS ride quality

If I am to make the April build slot I need to finalize my configuration by Monday - but I'm torn between a fully-specced 4S (PTZKG216) and a GTS (PTJZRXA8), both with:-

• Active Ride
• Rear-Axle Steering
• Torque Vectoring

The question is: what would I miss by going for a 4S over a GTS?

As I see it, the advantages of the GTS are:-

• Slightly-more power
• Firmer ride, even in "Normal" mode
• Potentially-sharper steering?
• (Unique "RaceTex" interior)
• GTS badging

The advantages of the 4S are:-

• Smoother ride in "Normal" mode
• Lower price

From the comments in this thread it would appear that a fully-specced 4S should have a similar steering feel to the GTS, but would give me a better ride quality (I can always switch to Sport or Sport Plus for more firmness). I don't really want the unique GTS interior - I prefer leather to the fake suede - and I do value a smooth ride… On the other hand, I'm also very fussy about steering feel, ride and handling. But I'd like to be able to choose between "race" and "cruise" styles as my mood suits

Here again are my two configurations:-

1. 4S: https://porsche-code.com/PTZKG216

2. GTS: https://porsche-code.com/PTJZRXA8

I would be grateful for any feedback/suggestions - thanks!
Steering feel will be the same, it's the same exact hardware on both cars, but dampers will be tuned different.

I am not quite sure why you did such a different spec on the 4S though. It's kind of an apples to oranges comparison?
Here's a spec for the 4S Black Edition, that is very close to your GTS spec, but as you can see it's much better value:
https://porsche-code.com/PTVW65R3

I did add the rear heat seating and rear airbags. It'll just be easier to sell the car at some point with those options in. They cost next to nothing anyway.

If you ever lack power you can get our controller for the car and make 940PS, but the 4S with the push to pass has quite a bit of power. I am not sure 100hp more or less is going to be that dramatic of a difference.

Personally I'd spec the 4S and then put the nice stuff in e.g. Burmester. The Bose sounds like shit in comparison.

Also if you don't spec the alcantara roofliner, then these parts are just plastic... ugh:

Thanks, that’s a great tip. Expensive though - given that most of the roof is glass!!!

I know, but the GTS has that already baked into the price!
If you want to save money -> 4S, get the nice stuff you wouldn't afford if you'd get the GTS and then if you ever feel that you want more power get the tune.

Or since it doesn't seem like you'll have rear passengers anyway just get the metal roof! For you as the driver the pano roof won't make an ounce of difference.

Yeah... the paddles were "free" buttons is all :)

P.S., Is it heresy to prefer a GTS with leather?

When I optioned the GTS interior, the configurator wouldn’t let me replace the RaceTex steering wheel with a leather one (without switching back to an all-leather interior).
I would spec GTS with leather and leather steering wheel. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

It's a real shame they removed the all-white ("crayon") seats in the refresh. I loved their look. The Macan EV has an all-white option - this would look fantastic with Gentian Blue:-

The closest I can get on the Gen-2 Taycan is the two-tone leather, which isn't brilliant IMHO.

I don't really want all black and certainly not brown. I wonder if the MY27 cars will have any changes in this department? That alone might give me cause to wait…

I can't see a reason to get the GTS if one is specifying leather, as the 4S Black (or 4 Black if don't want PAR) is significantly cheaper when optioned similarly, other than wanting the two mode steering wheel which may be retrofittable.
They are all the same when MapEV tuned.
For '27 that steering wheel may be available on all trims in conjunction with PVT.

I agree. My Taycan has all crayon interior and I really like it. The new interior will make it a little darker inside. All I will say though, is you can wait forever for a new upgrade to come. Life is too short to wait for the next best thing. There will always be something better around the corner.

As I understand it the two mode steering wheel can not be specced heated. Deal breaker for me. Ok if you live in a hot climate.
