GTS versus 4S body

Team Taycan, I read on another set of posts that traditionally the GTS is a much sportier ride (not as smooth as the 4S). See screen shots

This makes sense given the model designation but was curious about what people thought? I don't believe many people have had a chance to test drive the GTS Taycan but what are other people's experiences when it comes to driving the GTS varient with other Porsche models?

Test drive in the GTS Saloon yesterday. Admittedly it was a 15 minute drive and not on fast roads. Lots of traffic in the way.

I drove a 4S CT about four weeks ago on clear roads, motorway and country for 30 minutes.

My observations:

• Sport sound in GTS is bad ass. You are driving a space ship. It is deeper sounding than the 4S and exclusive to the model.
• Ride I can't really comment on without more driving time, but the GTS did seem a touch firmer on the road, though still a sweet ride.
• Handling seemed the same. Very sharp and satisfying.
• GTS is noticeably faster, especially acceleration either dead start or 30-60mph.
• Braking was more assured in the GTS.
• I admit I had more fun driving the 4S than the GTS (that I have ordered), but then it is not a fair comparison in terms of roads and driving time.
• Either model you cannot go wrong, it's more about budget and aesthetics in my opinion, unless you are part of that small Taycan owner cohort who really want to track their car, in which case definitely the GTS.

That was more because of the roads, not the car!

I am sticking with my GTS order even though the wait time is at least 12+ months vs. the 4S. It will be the more satisfying car to drive based on performance.

In normal driving mode the ride feel is unnoticeable compared to the 4S, though difficult to be sure without driving them one after another. I am sure in Sport+ the GTS would feel a lot more firm, but then you can instantly adjust your driving mode in motion, so your concerns shouldn't be a factor in choosing the 4S over the GTS.

I would be more concerned about budget, aesthetics, specs, and resale value where no EV is a keeper because of the technology. The GTS is the better answer to that equation.

If you want a Taycan right now or within 12 months, then the 4S.

Either choice and you will be delighted.

Yes -- someone on Reddit just posted that his dealer told him there is a 3 year wait list. Now he was immediately pounced on -- not him but his dealer -- but while the "3 year" timeframe can be debated, there is no doubt the next set of allocations might take a while.

Thanks again everyone. I know a "1st world problem" to have, especially with the current world events. It does make me appreciate (as you all must as well) how fortunate it is to be in this position
