Has anyone had the issue where the Porsche app says you are in private mode but the car is not? Prevents me from doing anything useful in the app.

Yes - frequently.

It's a false positive - similar to when the app tells you that your car is unlocked, lights left on, window open and so on. Synchronisation from the car to the Porsche cloud servers either hasn't completed, maintenance is in progress or there is a poor LTE connection and updates are delayed are the typical reasons.

Generally the 'issue' will self clear within and hour of locking the car.
