Hi,

After ordering the 4S with the optional "LED Matrix main lights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)" I now find it listed under standard equipment.

This should mean I can remove it from my config.
Any thoughts?

Where do you see it listed under standard? I see it still as being an option in the configurator in the United States.

1. Navigate to Porsche.com
2. Select "Build your Porsche" on the Taycan
3. Select for instance the "Taycan 4S"
4. Scroll down to bottom in the builder
5. Click the button "> Standard equipment"
6. Scroll down to ligtning and you'll find: "LED Headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+)"

I see now that the standard equipment is:
"LED Headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+)"

The option is:
"LED-Matrix Design Headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+)"

Is this the same thing or is the "LED-Matrix" something worth the extra $1,970 ?

Here in Norway (Europe) the translated text is identical in "Standard equipment" and options list.

What specifically is the difference that you like?
The Matrix led can turn off segments so you don’t need to dim down when you meet other cars..
And it looks boxer.. dont’ t now on Taycan but on Panamera it’s a big different design.

But isn’t that the function of PDLS+ that is included as standard?

Either the configurator is wrong or LED-matrix adds something extra to PDLS+

The Matrix-LED uses a Camera and turn off and on 84 Matrix-LED’s the normal LED do not do that.

You are correct. PDLS+ is just the cornering lights.

After chatting with my sales person I found out I've ordered:

Code 8JU
«LED-Matrix headlights 'Glacier Ice Blue' incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus) Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur»

Porsche Taycan Is "LED-Matrix Design Headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+)" standard eq? upload_2019-10-23_15-48-46

The standard item:

The USA option is only called "Matrix Design" as the USA still has backward policies that do not allow for headlights that change like Matrix lights.
Ref: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/21/business/headlights-adb-high-beams.html

My question is if you get this option in the USA will it be software upgradable to real matrix headlights when the law changes.

Also, I appreciate that the Glacier Blue had a distinct appearance difference, what about the white? I am looking at a Mamba Green Taycan so I don't think Glacier will work so well.

Still confused as the Taycan 4S and Turbo show the same lighting in the standard features but look completely different.

Does anyone have any real world pictures of the 4s lights as it looks like all the 4s press pictures have upgraded lights

I agree, not many, I went with the standard lights and not matrix, look at the video of the crash test, about the only one I could find, they kind of look like the mission e, much smaller I think, than the matrix, we will see

I think this picture from the 4S brochure shows the standard headlights (non-matrix design):

The 'glacier blue' are a different color and shape, with 'visually differentiated trim', that you can see in this pic. Not sure if there is any other difference.

Thanks for that, what is different about the trim on the glacier vs. the non glacier, I don't see the difference.
