Ordering another 4S and wanted to know if it's worth it for rear axle steering. Driving it in Phoenix, AZ area so no real canyon or mountain driving. Just normal city streets/highway driving. Didn't have it on my 2022 Taycan and it still handled great. Is it a noticeable difference and would you get it with the type of driving I do.

Thanks.

RAS has several benefits. Low speed maneuvering and high-speed lane change smoothness.
Relative to the cost of the entire car, it is a good deal, and not something I would option Taycan without.

A necessity for me. Makes parking much easier, especially in public parking spaces. Also, makes a 3 point turn much easier.

I didn't bother - had it on my RS6 and the only thing I noticed was that when reverse parking the back end came around quicker... Compared to the A6 I had before I honestly didn't notice the difference, not at all.

Taycan is perfectly manoeuvrable without. I'd save the £1600 and pay yourself a couple of quid every time you park without it ;)

Didn't spec on either of my Taycan's, I don't miss it, need or want it. I do have it on my GT3 and it makes a big difference on the track - the street not so much.

It is conceived to make the car more responsive in slower corners and more stable in high speed corners and lane changing at speed..
If you don't drive near the limit a lot you will only notice a bit smaller turning circle which is a by-product.
The way you describe your typical driving environment I think you would never notice it except parking.

Have it on our MY22 GTS Really enjoy it both for responsiveness at speed and low speed maneuverability. I would not order a Taycan without it.

It provides a nice tight turning radius. I never hear people talk about the one benefit. I think it helps prevent curb rash. In USA when making a low speed right turn, it makes the rear wheel turn outwards. It’s only a few degrees, but it helps. The car is very nimble, but I can’t compare with a car that doesn’t have it.

My car has RWS. Neither of two service loaner did. The only time I noticed a difference was when making tight turns. Not a huge difference but noticeable. I would spec it on a new car but would not let it's absence keep me from buying a car that was otherwise optioned with what I consider essential. So nice, but not a deal breaker.

Keep in mind that when needing full lock to pull out from being parallel-parked to a kerb, the rear wheel steers slightly towards the kerb, so avoid parking right up against it.

In my opinion it is among the most remarkable things about the steering. I would ABSOLUTELY get it without reservation. The tiny turning circle it delivers is worth the price of admission, PLUS the turn-in being so much quicker. I’ve had a loaner without it, and it was NOT as good.
