Just found out I have 7k equity in my current car (on PCP) so now I'm even more impatient to get the Taycan and cash in

My GTS has been at Emden since 4/26. First pushed back to depart 5/22, then updated today to depart on July 5!
Maybe yours and mine will be on the same ship in July…

Any of my fellow Canadians have movement from Halifax? My car is still there after arriving on 5/16.
Last I heard, mine was scheduled to leave Halifax on Jun 2. Haven't heard whether it is still there or not.

I will be picking up my car on June 14 through PEC LA delivery. Everything going well. Have signed all the paper work. Both PEC and dealer never mentioned any stop sale.
Congrats!! Glad to hear some members are actually able to take delivery

Your guess is as good as mine. From what I was told, they were so backed up at Emden and at the factory that they needed somewhere else to store it for a few months. ?‍♂
I’m curious, what does the path on the TYD map looks for your car. It should show how much of a detour the had to take to go to France.

I was told by the sales rep today they will give me an update in 2 weeks about my Taycan…
At least you have an honest SA. So many SA’s make shit up just to pacify customers. I personally I prefer they tell me the truth, even if that truth is “we have no clue”. In this case the SA admits they have no new information and commits to following up in 2 weeks. That’s the best you can expect.

Ha, they never updated it to show the actual location. I just have a 2 month gap from when it was built and when it was heading to Emden. But Porsche did confirm with my SA that my car had been moved to France. Of course my initial reaction was if you could move it to France, why not get it to Emden???

Seems odd that TYD would not show this, given it was supposedly a scheduled stop. Perhaps “car is in France” is a codeword for some other state, like “it got stolen, destroyed in the factory, or just never built as planned, so building a new one in the next batch”.

is it the best? I have transferred 70k into their pockets 3 weeks ago. What would you do?

Would you prefer they string you along with "your car will be here next week", then next week "sorry, the car has encountered additional delays in shipping, the following week for sure" - all the while they actually have no clue and are just making it up?

I do feel your pain about already having paid the dealer a substantial sum of money. This is a separate problem however. IANAL nor familiar with laws in the UK, so have no idea whether or not you have the right to take the money back, should the delay continue extending. Even if you come to such situation, it would be better if the dealer is honest about not having information, rather than making things up. I hope you're not at this stage yet, and that you verified before you transferred the money that it went to a reputable business with assets (such as an established dealer, rather than some guy on the internet), from whom you can extract it back should you need to. You could get them to agree that if Porsche cannot deliver a car to you by some date, a month or three away, they will refund your money. You can tell them you understand it's not their fault, but in the end you are only willing to wait so long. Keep in mind however, that ordering a new one would take even longer, so consider Plan B before you ask for your money back.
