I've just booked in for the first service and they tried to charge me for the brake fluid change till I pointed out that surely this was done when it had the brake recall. It was removed but they they said it requires a long life check. The booking person had no idea what this was as it just comes up on the computer. Does anyone know what it is and why it's now all of a sudden and extra £75 for something that wasn't charged or mentioned when it was the brake fluid? I have the feeling they're just looking for items to add....

Brake fluid is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture) and must be replaced every 2 years.

The fluid would have been replaced during the brake hose disaster campaign.

I think they may just be "at it".

I'm guessing it is a test strip to check your brake fluid?

Full flush not done when front hoses are replaced................
Yup I still needed a full brake fluid at service because it wasn’t done during the recall.

You don’t take the chance on brakes on a Porsche for the sake of saving a little bit of money.
