I guess that the types of policies and their providers vary a lot between individual Porsche dealers- mine for instance offer a policy for both wheels and minor cosmetic repairs to the body, but they don't offer anything covering tyres. Mine uses a mobile repairer, if a wheel needs a lathe repair then they instead contribute £110 or if needs replacing, £150 (limit of 10 wheel claims per year). I've just had a lathe repair done this way without fuss. Obviously the cover is nowhere near the cost of a new wheel, and diamond cut wheels will each only be able to lathe repaired a few times, but even so, I reckon my policy is worthwhile. Yours with cover for the tyres even more so.
Guess what. I got my Porsche yesterday =) Driving is exciting but also stressful atm. I am parking well, never curbed before, but today going from multi-storey work parking, exit gates had a small curb. Surrounding view didn't pick up and I felt something is wrong, but decided reversing will cause like 10 cars behind reversing too. So I proceeded and curbed .... first time in my life, second day of having this amazing car haha... slid off the curb. However I do have tire, alloy and minor damage, so that covers, I think for these cars with big bums and 21" wheels it is essential =)

For tyres and alloys I used TotalLossGap, was about £400 I think and far cheaper than the dealer. Someone on here recommended them
thanks brilliant I got 667 with tyres, alloys and dent repair

4 tyre claims per annum
6 alloy and dent per annum

It’s interesting to hear about the differences between dealers. I totally get the frustration with tire coverage. I recently bought a car and had to ship car from florida to ny, which was quite the experience! I used a cost calculator to help with the shipping expenses—it really made things clearer. I think having a policy that covers cosmetic repairs is great, especially since those minor dings can happen out of nowhere. And while it’s true that the limits on wheel repairs can feel restrictive, at least it gives you peace of mind. Overall, I'd say any coverage is better than none, right?
