New Taycan Turbo Stuck at CA Port Awaiting Software Update

Car unloaded at Port Benicia on March 13. Told it can't be delivered to my dealer in Oregon until software updated - Open Campaign Code WLC5. Only information I can get from dealer or Porsche NA is this involves "update software for various control units." Anyone else have this experience? Can car be driven without this update? Haven't been able to determine if the "update" needs to wait for factory to re-open. Dealer service department advised that their demo Taycan doesn't have this software update. Sure would like to get car off Port parking lot and at least delivered to dealer.

Fogdog - mine is at the port in Davisville, thought it would automatically get delivered to the dealer even if it was closed, who was it that told you it couldn’t be delivered to the dealer? Thanks

Both the dealer and Porsche NA in Atlanta said that the software upgrade needed to be done at Porsche's facility at the port, which doesn't make sense to me. I tried to reach the Porsche rep at the port to find out why the work couldn't be done at the dealer, but wasn't successful in getting a return call from him. Frustrating!

I agree, I am in the same situation, so if you find out anymore that would be helpful. Crazy times, but this might go on a while, any info is helpful.

Just a guess: The software upgrade is relevant for homologation and the car can't legally enter the US until it is applied. That's why this has to be done at the port instead of the dealer. Right now the car is probably in some limbo where it's not yet officially inside the US (similar to the transit area of an air port).
