Well I guess I am joining the no heat club! Does anyone know if not having cabin heat also effects the battery heater? I have also noticed with no heat in the car that the batteries do not get hot anymore even when charging at a 350kw charger I am seeing a top end temp of 76 degrees when normally 100-102 in these outside temperatures.

100% no heater = no battery precondition = slow charging on ultra fast chargers. I got my battery up to 21 centigrade after about 25 mins on a 350kw charger that maxed out at 50. Doh!

That makes sense based on what I am seeing when I charged the last two times. Normally I can pull into an EA station with 20% and be at 85 well within 25 minutes. The last times I was just over 1 hour.

Heating is provided by an HV heater (hence the power drain) and likely to support the charging processes too.

I would have thought the batteries would heat up when being charged regardless and that pre-heating only may be impacted (but that's a guess).

Major concern that so many cars are experiencing this issue - I sense another global recall looming around the corner!

They heat up some but not to normal levels, thats why I can no longer charge the car within my normal 20-30 mins time frame. It is taking more than double the charging time at a 350kw charger. Home charging is still the same, no impact.

I've rarely preheated and on the odd occasion I use public DC charging and the even rarer time I use ultra rapid charging (350kW) the charging process will heat the batteries via the EVSE (to around 32C) in the very early stages of the charging session and at which point the max charging rate is reached. Not sure that the car performs this task when charging or leaves it to the EVSE (since it is providing all the power).

Not saying this is an incorrect assertion but there could be other factors limiting / slowing the heating process or indeed reducing the charging rate.

If in doubt the only option is the drudgery of going back to the dealers once again.

mine failed last week. Estimate of 2 weeks for the part...FFS! Pretty terrible given it seems they are all failing.

Outside of the car having no heat here is the bigger issue. It’s same damn hard to charge the car. I am currently plugged into a 350kw charger and this is what I am dealing with.
The batteries will not heat up to accept of fast charge. The dreaded “turtle icon”.
This sucks!
