Possible Fix: Whistling noise at 50mph

This is my 4S CT AFTER a rear transmission drive unit change. Horrendous drone in 1st gear from 50 to 70mph…in the video, at 4 seconds it changes from 1st to 2nd and at 20 seconds it changes back to 1st. Is this similar/worse than others… sport and sport+ are a no go.

That noise would drive me nuts ? I hope you get that repaired quickly!

The dealership are at a bit of a loss... i took a technician out, with him sat in the back of the car, and he confirmed that i was wasn't exaggerating the issue... he confirmed the unreasonable noise level and the vibration felt through the rear seat.
It sounds & feels like a faulty wheel bearing, but given that the noise stops on the up shift, they don't think it can be.
They're taking it away again on Monday, i imagine I'll be in another lone car for a while...they're giving me another Taycan so things could be worse!.
They are being pro-active in trying to resolve it, not sure what the outcome will be.... replacement??‍

Hi Nick, I have the same noise. My car is only 2 month now and less than 2000 miles!! What was the issue for you? Is it solved?

Hi Domy... do a search for my thread 'New e-machine (motor) installation underway'... major surgery was needed. Mine all sorted now, thankfully.

I also have this problem. Does the weatherstrip leave glue residue on the plastic if later removed?

I just installed it so I can't say for sure it doesn't leave residue, but I can say that the adhesive seems pretty weak so it seems unlikely. Need to take the car out for a drive in a bit to see if it helped with the whistling noise...

Update: took the car in for service. Tech confirmed the noise, and fixed it by adjusting the hood alignment. My SA said they had a few Taycans for the same issue, and thought a TSB may come of it.

If you have this, it is fixable!

Forums are such a great resource! I too have the whistle noise with my ‘24 CT4S and it’s very annoying. Glad I searched and found a solution.

Not sure if I should just wait and get the hood realigned when I eventually bring in for the countless recalls, or just add the tape now.

Recently purchased my CPO Taycan GTS 23 and the whistling noise was so annoying sometimes I could hear it over the music playing. Took it into service and they noted they resolved it and no noise was heard anymore. Picked up the car and heard it immediately.

Found this forum and this fix. ordered the tape, was a little skeptical with the thinness but it worked perfectly! Did some light driving and spirited driving and never heard it again! I am amazed at such a simple and easy fix! After that I am hooked to this site!!!
