no real update. Happened twice about a month apart. My local dealership did a software reset and drove the car for awhile unable to reproduce the issue. It’s been about a month so I just cross my fingers everytime I drive the car.

This is completely unacceptable that Porsche is not getting to the bottom of this. I’m terrified to drive my car bc they did nothing to even try and fix it.

please if you are in the USA, report to NHTSA.gov
You can report each time it has happened to you. With enough reports, Porsche may have to finally figure out what is happening and actually fix it.
+1
NHTSA report a safety problem

Newest update: driving to pickup my kids from school and the car wouldn’t properly accelerate, started to jerk, and the turtle appeared. It was not a hot day, nor was my battery temp high. I hadn’t been driving the car for very long when it happened, and I wasn’t going at fast speeds. Car was towed into the dealership. They said this has happened to other taycans and an engineer has come out but can’t replicate while driving. No fix other than resetting the software. This is the third time in about 3 months this has happened to me. Again, I’ll report but just interested if anyone else has found a fix? Or what solution has been given?

This just happened to me. I got a 2020 Taycan 4s CPO within 10 minutes of leaving the Dealership. Was in highway and first it limited me to 100km then slow and slower. I ended up being stuck doing 35km on the right lane and eventually had to pull onto the shoulder to drive off the hwy at 10kph.

Got off the highway and it fully stopped. Had to get the car towed right back to the dealership. The Porsche road side assistance couldn't even see my vehicle because their system didn't even update yet.

Absolutely rediculous that this isn't a isolated incident.

ugh how frustrating! Have you seen the service records? Has this happened before to the vehicle and maybe the person decided to dump the car?
Happened to me for a 4th time a few days ago, after they replaced a module that they said would fix the issue. This time it was even more extreme jerking and no turtle was flashing on the dash. I wonder if they disabled the turtle alert.

I'm sorry this is happening to your car. It's surprising that there are no error codes when the car is diagnosed afterward. Did anyone suggest elevating to Porsche NA? Or was that who the engineer was? In any case, I'd consider two things. Get a cheap dashcam, plug it into the USB, and position it to see the dash to record the events. Also, I might get a OBD reader and do your own scans at the time of the event. When it is towed to the dealer, do they reproduce the problem _before_ they reset everything. Or has it arrived at the dealer and shows no evidence of failure?

They said the car is showing “soft faults”. They aren’t able to reproduce it. They originally said it was overheating but later determined that wasn’t the case. I have been able to catch video of it happening 2/4 times and I keep the battery temp on my screen. Just trying to share my info in case it can help anyone else. We have decided to not drive the car anymore as it’s just too dangerous/risky.

Consider reporting your experience to the NHTSA: Report a Safety Problem It is a safety problem. NHTSA report will get far more attention from regulators and Porsche management than anything posted in this forum.
