yes, wired to 800V battery.The current drawn by the PTC heater was 12 to 12.75 A. Guess the heater is wired directly to the 800 volt battery to avoid conversion losses.
I'm not sure it is (for BMW) or would be (for Porsche) of great use.There is no technical reason why you could not have such a ”button”. That is available and works great in the BMW EV’s.
Basic users would not understand what it does, advanced users would have no clue when to activate it so the battery would be at perfect temp. (depending of the actual batt. temp).
Very advanced users can achieve that by setting the closest DC charging station as next stop and the heater will run at max. Amp.
In the end, we are talking about saving a few minutes when charging (vs a few more kms in range)
