Context: 2021 Taycan Turbo S with 93 kWh battery capacity.
There are typically around 202 miles remaining when I charge to 100%. It's been like that for two years. So presumably my average consumption is around 2.17 miles/kWh.
After a recent 500 mile road trip with chilly temperatures, a fair numbers of hills, Sport Plus mode, and average speed of 85mph, charging to 100% now gives me 150 miles of range. Since the Taycan estimator's lookback period is 375 miles, presumably I was averaging around 1.61 miles/kWh for the last 375 miles of my trip.
Now I'm back home and am consuming a more typical 2.2 m/kWh according to the Trip screen. Yet the estimated range is still ticking down from 150 as though I were driving at 1.6.
Presumably this will self-correct over the course of the next 375 miles, but my question is this: If I were to drive exactly 150 miles (from 100%) at 2.2 m/kWh, the estimated range will presumably show zero, but will the car actually cease to function at that time or will it at some point realize that there's indeed another 50 miles available to me due to my more fuel-efficient driving style?
