Rear Trunk Lid - No Automatic Closing

Has anyone else experienced the center console directed closing to be non operational?
I am going into service a few weeks from now and any feed back on the fix is appreciated in advance of the visit.

Car must be in Park and you have to keep it pressed until closed.
