Sport/Gravel soft button POLL

As I discovered in my thread about the sport/gravel soft button, there are a few hypotheses about what determines which soft button is displayed on the lower control panel. While many have suggested it is a bug, it is hard to ignore the strong possibility of there being a correlation with a couple of options. Let's get to the bottom of this!
