Taycan Turbo ARB7 RECALL EXPERIENCE

So I was asked by Porsche to come in and have my vehicle inspected due to a recall of exploding batteries

upon inspection I was told certain battery modules need to be replaced and will take a month or two

Now in the meantime they gave me a 2025 macan which didnt come with android auto LOL which is laughable

I swapped it out eventually for a cayenne (garbage car imo)

After 2 months I emailed for an update and didnt get a response till a week later when I was told they dont have an update on the car but Im going to get a JD power survey

They didnt call regarding my car, they called regarding the survey, which I found shady tbh

Anyway I contacted the state attorney and they wrote to porsche

Literally the next day I got a call saying they cannot just replace the module and I am getting a WHOLE NEW BATTERY

personally I found this hard to believe because how do you go from I dont know the timeline of repair, to a brand new battery for free, the moment the state contacted them

the point is my taycan was $178k brand new, why should I wait 2 months for a recall? of which during the repair I got more letters saying theres further recalls, like what is wrong with Porsche?

anyway they are installing the battery now and said itll take a day or two

anyone else experienced the same?

I want to ask for a free service too

why they charge $2k to service an electric car is beyond me

For USA, that's normal and normal timelines, as per feedback from other USA owners that went through this.

They put whole new batteries if multiple modules are failed, and the cost of service time for opening the old battery + a few modules replacment is bigger than the cost of plugging in a new battery.

Be happy you get a new battery, it's likely 40-50miles extra range and faster to per-condition, due to new chemistry.

The entire process is a goat rodeo. I got the ARB7 letter, the dealer said I don't need it, PCNA said I do but that I should go to the dealer, the dealer said I don't need it. Meanwhile my range is 200 miles tops on an 11K mile car with PB+...

Let us know if you notice any other improvments: better charging curve (holding higher charging speed until 80%), less preconditioning required, etc.
