My turn... (UK based).
Never had an issue with my 2023 Taycan Turbo.

My first warning was the day prior when the front bonnet wouldn't open with the hand slide...only the key. The next was the doors wouldn't open with easy access...only the key. The rear boot wouldn't close fully with the right lock button under the boot lid. It would only close halfway (odd). Had to use the left close button to close the boot and lock with the key fob.

Soon after these issues, a 12V battery is low warning was presented on the passenger and central screens. Then the below transmission failure on the driver dash. Car would not operate in any way. Shut it off and restarted it...the car allowed me to drive it and park up safely... the car shut itself down numerous time when I tried to start the ignition and check for updates. I gave up and called Porsche.

AA arrived within the hour. Nice chap but didn't seem to be too sure on how the car operated. He checked the batteries and all seemed well charged and operational. He checked fault codes but there wasn't anything there aside from the transmission error - no more info.

Loader arrived an hour later and it is now with Porsche waiting for inspection (Monday is the soonest apparently).

My guess is your 12v battery is severely depleted / in need of recharging or just on the way out and is causing various subsystems to malfunction or throw error codes in the process.

See what the garage gave to say in the morning.

How does the 12v battery charge if it's different to the usual way of charging the vehicle? I will find out more in Monday and will update this post.

During normal driving it pretty much charges constantly from the voltage converter which sits on a stack of other electrical components under the bonnet.

Folks including myself have had issues with the 12v battery dying when the car has been stood. The recharging algorithm some how or other fails to keep it adequately topped up whilst the car is switched off.

thanks that’s helpful. I was away for 4 days and the car was not used. May have something to do with it. Only just passed 8k miles clocked since 2023 purchase. Maybe I’m not using it enough.

I have a 2023 and no such issues by not driving it for a few weeks never a problem.
Please keep us posted on the diagnosis, as this is a new error, I do not think we have seen before on the forum.

I think a few of your symptoms are circumstantial -

-bonnet (hood) gesture release is a bit random for me.

- closing the rear tailgate/hatch/ boot door from under the bonnet (hood) ? Didn’t know that was possible

-12v battery warning- I’ve had that once or twice. No lasting issues.

Not yet had a gear box failure indication but hope it doesn’t happen to me and you get it sorted.

ps. I thinking mixing US/UK nomenclature confuses somewhat. . Boot/hood/bonnet

My apologies - I used the wrong terminology, I have edited the original post.

In reply to your post, the easy access to the vehicle in all areas was out. Something fishy is going on. I have a feeling it is software related as the recovery chap said the 12v battery was fully charged from his tests.

Others will know better than me, but if the 12v is flakey then perhaps it’s causing issues. Possibly that powers the doors/bonnet/boot. The transmission likely completely separate issue though could b e 12v related. The old turn off /wait/walkaway/ and turn on again may reset the diagnostics.
