I've just been getting some quotes for a '22 GTS ST and am surprised at how expensive it is! I got some quotes around 650 for a regular 4 CT when I started looking for Taycans and the GTS is coming in about 200 quid more. I guess it's all the carbon bits / cost of repair, but even so...

The prospect of paying £850 to insure a car has surprised me, I'm 40, bags of NCB, live in the middle of nowhere, plenty of other cars in the household, relatively low annual mileage on each car as a result. Even my thief-magnet modern Range Rover is only £500 here.

However, reading this thread I now think maybe £850 isn't so bad after all?

That quote was on comparethemarket with Aviva Zero (I've got another car insured with them at the moment and no complaints, but no claims either...).

Is there anyone else I should try, that isn't on CTM? I'll try Lockton on Monday, as they insure one of my other cars too, but I'm expecting them to be expensive.
Reduce the insured value reflecting the depreciation- £15K / year for example - this might help.

My GTS ST MY23 was around £650 with Admiral and my 4S around £550 - both cars were new. Full NCB, 61, garaged.

There was a peak one year of £1100 - no change in circumstances and could not be explained but I think all insurances went on a roller coaster ride that year.

Thanks, and that's a good point re: value. I will take out a GAP policy for return to invoice anyway so I guess it can be insured for a bit less
