Hi all,

I posted a while back about a sound behind the dash. The car has been into the dealers twice now. Once for over a week to repair what they believe was associated with the AC - changing the expansion valve. But the sound was back 5 days later with a vengeance despite this replacement.

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced a similar sound? Any help / thoughts massively appreciated.

Might be my iPad / computer but I can't hear anything - extremely faint.

if it is the sound like a sick cat meowing right at the start and again between 5 and 6 seconds then I've never heard that for my car.

Apologies should have described it better but yeh it is the sound at the start and end of the video (added another video with it captured again) and sounds a bit like an electronic typewriter.

No HUD installed so can’t be related to that.

Sit in the driver's seat with the car on...AC set on 72 "for both sides" and see if you hear an AC rattle type noise from the top of the dash or outside the car near the lower windshield line (I'm not joking, my car has it, and it drives me crazy and it is not normal it has to do with the electronic activation of the expansion valve), you are in the UK, so it may not be as pronounced as is the warmer California climate when the AC compressor working to cool more. Porsche says it is normal, it is not, if you hear it tell them to fix it before you take delivery. Also review the attached bulletin, there are brake values that can be altered a bit to make the brakes better, you may want to ask the dealer about them. Something to do with pressure etc., I think the range is 1.5-2.8, 1.5 being better.
It's hot here in Arizona, too. I started hearing a growling sound behind the dash soon after taking delivery in June 2022 (my RWD was built in April 2022). The sound didn't stop when I turned off the seat ventilation, but it did stop when I turned off the A/C. The dealership looked at it and said it's an expansion valve failure. They ordered a new part (# 9A7-816-682-00) for replacement.

It's fixed! It took a lot of effort to repair. My 2022 RWD was in the shop for two weeks to replace the expansion valve, and I got a Cayenne for a loaner. The effort is summarized below:
